Poughkeepsie Pinstripes: March 2008
http://poughkeepsiepinstripes.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 31, 2008. Opening Day Live Blog. At long last the first game of the season is nearly here, and I'll be posting through the whole thing. To start, here are the lineups:. It's very interesting to see Cano get bumped up the lineup over Posada and Matsui, especially considering Posada's fantastic season last year. Joe Girardi obviously thinks highly of Cano, and isn't afraid to show it. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). And not those of the Poughkeepsie Journal. Rany on the Royals.

Wednesday, August 27, 2008. And continue to use an outfield of Nady-Damon-Abreu, or find a replacement. They can make this decision much easier by playing Brett Gardner. Regularly over the rest of the season, and letting themselves see if he's good enough to be the center fielder next year. If he is, then an outfield of Damon-Gardner-Nady becomes a very attractive option. Links to this post. Monday, August 25, 2008. Minor League Monday 8/25/08. Thursday, May 14, 2009. No, the highlight of the game came from the two comedic geniuses who got seats behind home plate and decided to do their best umpire impressions in full uniform. Tuesday, June 9, 2009. With the Yankees set to open a series in Boston at 7, I plan on watching the first hour of the draft on TV and then keeping an eye on it with my laptop during the game. I'll update here when the Yankees get their chance to pick. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Poughkeepsie Pinstripes is a Yankee blog for the Poughkeepsie Journal. Friday, May 30, 2008. I promised to share any further information I could dig up on Alfredo Aceves, the righthanded pitcher who has been so successful for the Tampa Yankees and Trenton Thunder. Well, Mike Ashmore of the Hunterdon County Democrat sat down with Aceves for a short chat which you can read over at his blog. It's a short interview, as Aceves' English isn't great, but it does provide some insight into where he came from and why he didn't pitch in the US until he was 25. Paul DePodesta, former G...

Poughkeepsie Pinstripes: Where's the Heat?
http://poughkeepsiepinstripes.blogspot.com/2009/04/wheres-heat.html
Thursday, April 30, 2009. On the surface, last night probably seemed much like the night before, as one of the Yankees young starters dominated the Tigers while their hitters backed them up with a bunch of runs scored in one big inning. For most, it seems like the only things to worry about were the troubles of the Yankee bullpen, particularly in the case of Mariano Rivera. Who gave up a big home run for the second straight time. I, however, find myself more worried by Joba Chamberlain. Minor League Mond...

Poughkeepsie Pinstripes: February 2008
http://poughkeepsiepinstripes.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 12, 2008. Spring Training - The Starters. The big question for now, however, is whether Joba Chamberlain. Can take the final spot in the rotation. While Chamberlain and Kennedy seem to be the only serious candidates for the fifth starter's job, that doesn't mean you should ignore the rest of the starters. If the Yankees learned anything in 2007, it's that there's no telling how many pitchers you're going to end up needing. Jeff Karstens. Could put one of them at the front of the line.

Thursday, April 30, 2009. I generally don't care terribly much about the off-field craziness that surrounds Alex Rodriguez, which is why I don't write about it very often. I wanted, however, to share a few thoughts and links regarding the whirlwind unleashed by the New York Daily News when they shared details. From a leaked copy of Selena Roberts' forthcoming book. Over at ESPN, could just as easily be the result of withdrawal from steroids. That Roberts' past reporting on Rodriguez has shown a penchant ...
