Salami and Edam Cheese w/ Crackers. Day 3: Cottonwood Campground to Phantom Ranch / Bright Angel Campground. Miles Hiked: 7.6. Lunch Stop: 'The Box'.

Grand Canyon National Park. I developed the equipment checklist below for my own personal use. After a few hours wearing a 50 pound backpack, you may begin to wish that you had left some of your 'stuff' at home. Watch everything that you bring - check all weights and be sure it's really necessary! Please keep in mind that these are only suggestions - although I have yet to find anything I've really needed on the T-C-E trip which isn't on the list. Sleeping Pad Stuff Sack. Pack but don't carry.

This backpacking trip is a leisurely paced journey through the rock layers of geologic time. While our daily hiking distances will be relatively short, the constancy of the downward (and upward) hiking can cause sore muscles even in the strongest backpackers! Our hiking days range from.
