Friday, September 12, 2008. A Brisk Morning Stroll. Writing today while waiting for our laundry to run at a local laundromat. I don't think there is anyway to pack three weeks worth of clean clothes, so today is strategic and necessary break from generally vacation like behavior. The prospect of not running out of clean underwear is uplifting. This has all the hallmarks of hiking. I don't hike. Yet like a grumbling and moaning mountain goat I persevere. Friday, September 19, 2008. A few Shrigley Hall pics. Dawn got a break this afternoon so we walked around the hotel a bit. Here are a few photos that I took. First up, the entrance to Shrigley Hall. Next, here's a cute little topiary that's on the grounds. There are concrete lions all over the place here. Here's one that's resting just outside the restaurant. Sunday, September 14, 2008. Here are two things I've noticed while traveling. Great Britain hates dog crap. In Stratford-Upon-Avon I noticed signs posted that said that if you didn't pick up your dog refused you could be fined 100 pounds. In Edinburgh I've noticed similar signs. On Islay I was treated to a diatribe on the matter from our hostess. Also why don't they think throwing their butts on the ground is littering? September 19, 2008 at 9:41 AM.
