Student Guides for St. George’s Univeristy Medical School. I was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri, went to college at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, and after two rounds of applying to medical schools in the US and a year as a Patient Care Tech, I arrived in Grenada. After finishing my second year with SGU, I transferred to Drexel University. In Philadelphia, passed Step 1, began working with Tao Le of the First Aid for the USMLE. Feed You can leave a response. Banking and Money | Welcome to Grenada

https://welcometogrenada.wordpress.com/2006/12/03/banking-and-money

Student Guides for St. George’s Univeristy Medical School. For the next few years you will be using Eastern Caribbean currency, or ECs. The conversion rate is easy and if you manage to keep the following table straight in your head, you will be able to gauge what is and is not a fair price. Everything is in US dollars because I am too lazy to provide conversion tables for all nations and, since I just finished talking about phones, I am worried you are asleep. 1 = 267 EC. 8 = 20 EC (roughly). Second Opinions (random advice) | Welcome to Grenada

Student Guides for St. George’s Univeristy Medical School. Second Opinions (random advice). If you are buying a computer for school, make sure that it is light, portable and has a long-lasting battery. If you are thinking about getting a tablet computer, know that the best advantage is taking notes in OneNote. Instead of having binders and binders, you have a file on your computer. Whenever you want to add something, erase something, or include pictures with your notes, you can. The bus stops are obvious.

Groceries | Welcome to Grenada

Student Guides for St. George’s Univeristy Medical School. You do not have to grow your own. IGA Real Value supermarket is air-conditioned, white tiles, hanging signs over every row, the whole bit. It also has the advantage of being on the bus route and since everything in med school boils down to convenience, most people shop at IGA. Other options include Food Fair in Monte Tout and CK’s Super Value at the roundabout by the Texaco (yes, this is how directions are given in Grenada). From your own site.

First Term | Welcome to Grenada

https://welcometogrenada.wordpress.com/2006/12/03/first-term

Student Guides for St. George’s Univeristy Medical School. ANATOMY and EMBRYO (8cr). If there is any course that signifies medical school to the undergrad, it is Human Anatomy. After this, you should know every bone in the body, every muscle that moves them, and every nerve that orders them around. And I am kidding. You will cover a fair bit of it, know some interesting clinical presentations, and be able to explain to your friends back home what “fight or flight” is all about. And is that not the goal?

My notes…from the operating theatre | Dibasic

https://dibasic.wordpress.com/2008/09/07/my-notesfrom-the-operating-theatre

My notes…from the operating theatre. September 7, 2008. I guess first and foremost if I had to tell you one thing about the OR it would be don’t skip lunch if you can avoid it. Lets just say it get’s hot under the theatre lights and that it’s a lot easier to deal with if you’re well fed. Having first really read about scrubbing (the cleaning of hands and arms and donning sterile gloves and gowns for surgery) from Sid Schwab over at surgeon’s blog. From → Wards (Clinicals). My…End of term review. December 14, 2007. All I can really think to say is the first two years of medical school went by very quickly. One minute you are packing your bags to go out there and the next you are trying to decide which things you will be able to bring back. At the end of the first year I did a little review of all the courses and I will now do so for the second year:. O Behavioural Science (Introduction to human development). O Biostats and Epidemiology (Evidence Based Medicine). My…Of...

Step 1 Thoughts | Dibasic

I’m sure you are asking yourself what is it? It’s an exam which tests the so called basic sciences . A fully computerised multiple choice exam 7 sets of 50 questions which add up to a total of 350 Question exam. Pros: The exam is on computer most people have not had too many exams on computer and thus it is best to simulate the real deal as close as possible. You can navigate my question bank reviews on the top right hand side subpages menu. Leave one →. March 20, 2008 8:34 pm. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

My notes…from the wards. September 6, 2008. I had thought what I would do was have a guide or list of things to keep in mind for the wards instead I think I will put them into some notes which for the moment I will make as individual posts. In order not to leave you empty handed with my first post here is a short one: Clinicians on the wards seem to like it when you approach a question you don’t know the answer to by taking things back to first principles, it also gives you a good chance to think. USMLE World | Dibasic

https://dibasic.wordpress.com/usmles/step-1-thoughts/usmle-world

They have a lot of image based and diagram based questions. Really checks if you’ve made the connection and I hear these types of questions are out in the wide on the real exam. In the review section the answer is explained and then they have a section where they summarise the point of the question. Who writes the questions? Would they just take my money and run? I was able to answer one question out of three, which sometimes isn’t too bad on USMLEworld (Just kidding). Leave one →. Enter your comment here.

Can you believe that there is one family whose dogs have attacked 8 victims and they were photographed recently walking one of them down a city street without a leash?
