Steve Hinton Wildlife Photography. Local Wildlife Photography And From Further Afield. South Africa . 9 - 23 September 2009 Alex Bevan, Phil Edmonds, Russ Eynon and Steve Hinton. A trip to South Africa had been on the radar for quite a while. Whilst we originally planned to visit the Western Cape the lure of Big Mammals proved too strong. We eventually ended up spending 9 nights in the Cape Town area before flying to Johannesburg for a further 4 nights in Kruger National Park. We resisted the temptation ...

Steve Hinton Wildlife Photography: Little Bunting
http://southwalesbirder.blogspot.com/2015/05/little-bunting.html
Steve Hinton Wildlife Photography. Local Wildlife Photography And From Further Afield. Sunday, 17 May 2015. On the 5th of February this Little Bunting was discovered feeding on the wet area outside the hide at Forest Farm Cardiff. News of a Lesser Pecker had been reported the previous day, otherwise it may never had been identified. On the few occasions I was able to visit the light was always too strong, with the hide facing south it was always going to be hard to get good shots. Posted by Steve Hinton.

Steve Hinton Wildlife Photography: Black Redstart
http://southwalesbirder.blogspot.com/2013/11/black-redstart.html
Steve Hinton Wildlife Photography. Local Wildlife Photography And From Further Afield. Thursday, 28 November 2013. This Black Redstart had been at Dunraven for at least 10 days, so when the opportunity came I made the effort. An early finish on the Friday with good light was a must! Feeding on flies on the walls of the Lodge allowed close approach. Of all the Black Reds I have seen this one was by far the most confiding! I returned the next morning but the clear night didn`t help, it departed! Http:/ sou...

Steve Hinton Wildlife Photography. Local Wildlife Photography And From Further Afield. Thursday, 3 April 2014. Cosmeston country Park hosted this Diver for a few weeks. Although there were 2 birds at the Docks in Barry I think this was a different bird, being quite tame at times where as the Barry birds always kept their distance! Posted by Steve Hinton. Steve Hinton Wildlife Photography. Local Wildlife Photography And From Further Afield. Sunday, 15 September 2013. The Bay of Biscay. Again this year, as every year, a group of us took the ferry across the Bay to see Cetaceans and Birds. Last year was a disappointment as the sea was too rough to pick up any blows etc. The conditions going down were very good with the odd white cap. But as the day drew on the conditions became perfect, almost glass like as we neared Santander. Posted by Steve Hinton. Two y...

Steve Hinton Wildlife Photography: March 2013
http://southwalesbirder.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Steve Hinton Wildlife Photography. Local Wildlife Photography And From Further Afield. Thursday, 7 March 2013. Throughout this winter I have been seeding in the hope for Yellowhammers. A few appeared about 6 weeks ago but were never reliable. Then about 3 weeks ago a huge count of 22 appeared probably from the adjacent field which is now ploughed and ready for seeding, now at least 7 birds and are regular. Posted by Steve Hinton.
