ZAMBIA K8: The Home Stretch
http://zambiak8.blogspot.com/2008/06/home-stretch.html
DIARY OF A GIRL GONE WILD. Tuesday, June 24, 2008. This week I have the privilege of making sure Peace Corps Volunteers do not get deported or burn down the Peace Corps House in Choma. That I am trusted to be in charge of 25 people after burning down my toilet and doing a whole range of idiotic things over these last two years is pretty startling for a lot of you. Fear not, I am doing a stellar job. I am so excited to do life with all the people I love back in the States. Peace Corps Buddy Julie.

LIFE - an ocean away. Travels and Tribulations during my Zambian adventure! Sunday, September 10, 2006. I have a dog - left by the volunteer I replaced - who hangs with me most days and will scare away any kids or unexpected visitors - which is somewhat anti social of me to allow, but hey.I enjoy my alone time! Now - story time:. But I am almost healed, and will be heading back to the bush soon. Here's where you all come in though.I no longer have any addresses or pics or anything for that matter so ...

LIFE - an ocean away: February 2007

LIFE - an ocean away. Travels and Tribulations during my Zambian adventure! Monday, February 19, 2007. Listening to the music! My Christmas Vacation to Malawi was wonderfully relaxing and primarily consisted of Katie and I lounging on boats and beaches reading. It didn’t really feel like the holidays being stuck on a secluded beach in sweltering heat, but no complaints here! I did head back to the village for the month of January and have continued to organize the Lifeskills training for local teachers, ...

LIFE - an ocean away. Travels and Tribulations during my Zambian adventure! Sunday, November 26, 2006. Reflection on the Youth of Zambia. Gender equality in the states (though there are some discrepencies still of salaries/upper level positions in the workplace, and the continuous struggle against the traditional 'womens role' norms). It was sadly aweing to witness the discrepencies in the attention and respect shown by the students and presenters of varying genders. There was much more participation...

LIFE - an ocean away. Travels and Tribulations during my Zambian adventure! Sunday, July 23, 2006. Random Thoughts from the head of Brette. Any english word will suffice for a childs name*. Names encountered thus far: Precious, Blackson, whiteson, greatboy, memory, gift, battery, maybe. The definition of food expands to new realms*. Caterpillars, whole kapenta, the slimiest okra imaginable, and of course rats a mice. I have only tried the caterpillers - pretty oily and crunchy - not recommended). World C...

ZAMBIA K8: The Story Ends...The Story Begins
http://zambiak8.blogspot.com/2008/08/story-endsthe-story-begins.html
DIARY OF A GIRL GONE WILD. Wednesday, August 06, 2008. The Story Ends. The Story Begins. I can not remember when I ate my last mango. It isn’t that I really care that much about mangoes, though Zambian mangoes are heavenly. I am bothered because it has left my memory. One of so many moments that was vivid and living at the time and is now gone forever from my mind. Things that are now clear and bright, will they fade into gray after a few days, a few months, a few years? The sound of JoJo’s laugh? Will I ...

Wednesday, January 23, 2008. The whole venture is proving entertaining and rewarding. Entertaining as they teach eachother and laugh and exclaim that the other has failed before they start over again. Rewarding because its a big project and its actually coming together nicely!
