Aspects of Catholicism: January 2014

Paul - the Apostle of the Gentiles. PAUL - The APOSTLE of the GENTILES. It has been suggested by some eminent scholars that the matter of the Canonical Gospels is, to a large extent, 'mythical', and that the Gnosis of Ancient Egypt was carried into other lands by the underground passage of the 'Mysteries', to emerge at last as the legend of 'Historic Christianity'. The result of such speculation suggests that Paul was the 'opponent' and not. The apostle of Historic (that is Judaic) Christianity. They pro...

SS Cuthbert and James. Ego vos elegi de mundo, ut eatis, et fructum afferatis: et fructus vester maneat. Saturday, November 18, 2006. Requiem: Latin Mass Society. Today's Latin Requiem Mass at Westminster Cathedral reminded me starkly why I normally keep well away from the old rite and the Cathedral, even though I am an advocate of more Latin in the liturgy.
