Contemporary 19th century photography. As I have been busy making collodion negatives these three are my first salt prints from calotype negatives this summer. Taken at Östarp. A lovely place close to where I live. The calotypes were all more or less underexposed, then overdeveloped to compensate and allowed to fog a bit on their backs. Thus their grainy appearance. Contemporary 19th century photography. One morning I woke up and realised that I want to build windsor chairs. Contemporary 19th century photography. Newer posts →. The Cloisters, Lacock Abbey. At the beginning of August I spent a weekend with the Calotype Society. In Lacock where Henry Fox Talbot lived. It was a very strange feeling to be at the home of one of the inventors of photography and actually make calotypes just like he did, and to see scenes I recognize from his pictures. I am booked to do a wet plate collodion demo/workshop at Landskrona Foto Festival. On the 24th of August. Lilla Södergatan No 6, Lund.

Lördag 2 maj 2015. Här ligger jag - redo att än en gång ta mig an Kullen. Denna 1 maj började med sol och ganska vindstilla. Vi - 9 paddlare från KFÖ - startade i Mölle och rundade fyren i lugnt väder. Eftersom vi hade alla bilar i Mölle var planen att paddla till Nimis och tillbaka. Efter fyren blev det lite småkrusigt, vind som höll på att vända gav lite tvättmaskinvågor. Som vanligt lunch på en stenig strand och sedan dom roliga grottorna. Inga bilder av vågorna som vanligt. Måndag 8 december 2014. OM GRÖNLAND PÅ NATIONALMUSEUM. Jag tycker alltid det är kul att lära sig bakgrunden till saker jag är intresserad av. Fotohistoria ligger mig varmt om hjärtat och nu var det dags att lära sig något om kajakens historia. Lennart i min kajakklubb Kanotföreningen Öresund. Hade tagit initiativ till ett besök på Nationalmuseum i Köpenhamn. Kajaken var viktig för människor i arktiska områden. Från kajaken kunde dom jaga och skaffa mat för att överleva. Well, it's the old peat shed next to the house that also houses the bikes. Only thing, when I go in there to snap it up for you it's always dark. Funny that. So you'll have to make do with a couple of snaps of Mr Toots who is. Sometimes full of brightness. Planned by Lord Leverhulme to transport fish. A Sense of Achievement.

Complicated ones, manual ones and in two cases, automatic ones. Like the Minolta. Ok, it's not completely in focus but the exposure is fine. And the subject - Leigh on the good-tub Freyja. Is great. Them there hills were still there when we left that day. Saw them later looming over our resting place. Just as well I had a little camera with me so I could capture that very moment. Torsdag 14 maj 2015. Var på Öland i helgen med FFIM. Trevligt med utflykt men jag trodde inte det skulle bli så mycket fotograferat eftersom landskap inte riktigt är min grej inom fotografi. MEN det var innan vi upptäckte Ölands djurpark. Eller rättare sagt Nöjesparken som inte hade öppnat för säsongen än och låg helt öde. Riktigt surrealistiskt var det. Silver Plate Photography | Wetplate Collodion Artistry
The Wetplate, or wetplate collodion, process dates from 1851 with the work of Frederick Archer. A glass, tin or mirrored plate is coated with cellulose nitrate, an iodide, and silver nitrate. The plate is then exposed and developed while still wet. This unique process of photography brought with it the first images to reveal the subjects contrast and detail. It was very popular during the Civil War period, and continued to be the photographic process of choice until the 1900’s.
