The briefing speaker Michal started the briefing with the words that we all are very sad, because the time is flying by and tomorrow will be the last briefing. (I think he had tears in his eyes, but don’t tell it anyone.) True, it’s sad but we still have some time to have fun. The introduction of the team members belonged to three guys. Jeg vil bruge siden her på at føre en beskeden log over mine oplevelser set med mine forholdsvis svæveflyveukyndige øjne - det flyvetekniske og oplevelserne i luften overlader jeg til Christian at beskrive i sin egen blog. Jeg har aldrig lavet en blog før, men uvist af hvilke af en række grunde har jeg lyst til at prøve det nu (? Måske bliver det en ren fiasko fyldt med almindeligheder, men så kan man jo altid springe over.

Heldigvis har der ikke været flere uheld, så nu ser vi frem til sidste konkurrencedag i morgen, som slutter med en lille fest. Dagen i dag begyndte som sædvanligt med samling af flyveren og transport til grid'en, men herefter drog vi i al hast til Skodaværkstedet hvor min bil blev afhentet mod betaling af 85,94 Euro, så god som i sin ungdoms vår - eller i hvert fald med alle elruder fungerende. Vi havde i dag besøg af Morten Juul og familie fra Århus; Morten er kvalificeret til EM næste år og var nede og checke forholdene.Vi havde en hyggelig eftermiddag og aften med dem.

Fra sidelinien og opefter. Søndag den 4. juli 2010. Den obligatoriske kø ved Elbetunnelen var ikke så slem som før set, og derefter sydpå i fin fart. Indtil GPSens TMC mente at der var trafikprop længere sydpå og derfor ledte mig gennem et virvar af smukke landsbyer, og derefter tilbage på den samme hovedvej nogle få kilometer sydligere. Det er altså ikke godt i en bil uden klima. Men vi er godt fremme og indkvarteret, og i dag er konkurrencen startet. Mere kan læses på Christians blog. 3 dag er jorddag.

Fra sidelinien og opefter. Lørdag den 10. juli 2010. Så fik jeg min debut som chauffør med flytrailer. Sådan en er vel omkring 8m lang så man skal lige tænke sig ekstra om når man svinger, men derudover er der ikke de store ben i at køre med den. Den vejer ikke ret meget og har lav cw værdi, så kørsel på gode veje er intet problem, kørsel på veje af varierende kvalitet er også muligt og blev praktiseret i dag uden problemer. Fra sidelinien og opefter. Torsdag den 22. juli 2010. VM er slut og jeg er hjemme i DK igen. Sidste flyvedag blev en AAT på kun 2 timer, sikkert pga utidige vejrudsigter og at man gerne ville undgå næstsidste dags masseudelandinger. Apropos, tasksætteren blev ved briefingen lørdag offentlig spanket i en lille teatralsk happening - en meget humoristisk måde at komme med en undskyldning på fra arrangørernes side. Men der var altså også kun 7-8 piloter som kom hjem. Fredag den 16. juli 2010. Og så alligevel...

Så er tiden ved at være inde til at jeg smutter ned til Tom K. i Le Mans og følger de 9 (! Danskeres kamp i 24-timers løbet Le Mans. Jeg har truet med at ville til Le Mans i flere år, men har altid sprunget fra i sidste øjeblik fordi jeg hellere ville ud at flyve. Nu er flyveren i sverige til VM, så nu skal det være.
