Pearls and Opals: August 2013
http://pearls-and-opals.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 19, 2013. 1st Days of School, 2013. Obligatory 1st Day photo. We now have both children at the same school! This is fantastic and will last for the next three years, only to happen one other year in their schooling, when K is a senior and L a freshman in high school. And we're still carpooling with another family this year, so I won't even have to deal with getting them to or from school sometimes! L is now a Kindergartener! I also caught these two photos this morning. Thanks to K for play...

Pearls and Opals: Montana Part 2
http://pearls-and-opals.blogspot.com/2014/07/montana-part-2.html
Tuesday, July 29, 2014. More from our trip to Montana. We were busy every day except our first and last, which were dedicated to hanging around the house and yard and just soaking in as much dry mountain air as we could. With the exception of meals, the girls were outside from 9am-9pm everyday because it didn't get dark there until close to 10pm. I think actual sunset was 9:15 or so each night. We rafted (and drove a few cars) to a nearby campground for one night of camping. We all loved it!

Saturday, February 1, 2014. The United States Army Golden Knights ( http:/ armygk.armylive.dodlive.mil/. The experience was unbelievable and these guys are true professionals. They did a compilation video of the entire experience including an interview on the ground, in the plane, the freefall, and a post-jump recap. We were essentially their training dummies for the real-world VIPs they'll deal with post-March 2014. Here are some still photos of the experience. Check out my sweet yellow jumpsuit!

Monday, December 30, 2013. Yes, that's a Lego Weiner-dog. The largest Banyan tree we've seen yet. It was HUGE and magnificent! The gardens were very serene-. Probably a nice contrast to the park on a busier day. Lego Cypress Gardens=Happy Family. Waterski pyramid w/ Lego pelican in the foreground. MiniLand, USA - New York City. More of the San Francisco section. Testing their race car on one of the ramps. Trying some royal jousting. Learning to drive.and blow through stop signs. Sunday, December 29, 2013.

Pearls and Opals: Montana Part 3 (of 3)
http://pearls-and-opals.blogspot.com/2014/07/montana-part-3-of-3.html
Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Montana Part 3 (of 3). For the first time ever, we weren't at home for K's birthday. She requested that we spend the day in Yellowstone National Park, an easy request to honor, since it's fun for everyone and we hadn't been there in three years. We even managed to see and do a few things that we'd never done before. Along the Firehole River. One of many geysers and springs we saw that day. While we waited and waited for a geyser to go off (it never did), the girls got silly. Seein...

Pearls and Opals: June 2014

Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Our Fearless Peter Pan. Wendy and Tinkerbell on the left and Tiger Lily on the right. K's group classical ballet shot. I couldn't get my camera to function without the flash at first during the tech/dress rehearsal at the theatre and K's ballet piece was the third dance of the whole show, so I only have two over-exposed and slightly blurry shots from my phone. You get a better idea of their lulla-bye song dance from the studio photos, which were lame this year. Based on Peter Pan.

Pearls and Opals: Rhode Island Visits
http://pearls-and-opals.blogspot.com/2014/08/rhode-island-visits.html
Thursday, August 21, 2014. The first item on my agenda was to meet this little guy. Jack is cute as a button and still had that sweet baby smell. It was weird meeting him before I had even met his dad- he'd left for work before I arrived for the morning walk with mom and dog. And here was another bonus of my visit with my oldest friend, Eddy, the nearly one-year-old golden. His fur is gorgeous! The girls had looked through a book of things to do with your kids and found the Newport mansions, so we went d...
