Friday, January 15, 2010. I never intended to post anything to the group like this, but I really need to say something to the whole Whatcom Weavers Guild. That’s how dear Mary Ellen became an important part of Wednesday evening. . I, or should I say WE. Are indebted to her for sharing such wonderful artifacts. As the trusted guardian, she has preserved a treasure trove of history from such a successful weaving business located right here in Whatcom County. Thank you Mary Ellen. It was way cool! Kinokun...

Mabel's Wish: low tide ~
http://mabelswish.blogspot.com/2010/07/low-tide.html
Sunday, July 11, 2010. Like a year ago, Steve and I went to Point Whitehorn Reserve to walk on the beach and see the sights. It is surprising how things are different year to year. Today the water was crystal clear and a large area of lovely solid sandy beach was perfect for walking. We were pretty much alone on the beach for most of the time it was lovely. We took our shoes off and enjoyed the sand. Such contrast between the grey of the sand and the purple of the starfish. July 12, 2010 at 10:11 PM.
Mabel's Wish: 45 ~ what an odd number?
http://mabelswish.blogspot.com/2010/05/45-what-odd-number.html
Friday, May 14, 2010. 45 what an odd number? How the hell did that happen? 160; How can one feel smarter, slower, wittier, mellower, all at once? I think the answer is 45. My life is summed up in the birthday card doodle from my husband:. I’m weaving tapestry (or learning);. The cat is sleeping in his “cat-bowl” bed;. My dad is sitting in the hospital next to my mom laying in bed (last weekend);. And Steve is coming home after his swing shift, calling out, “I’m home.”. Cat in cat bowl: Fine. By hand tatt...
Mabel's Wish: October 2009
http://mabelswish.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 22, 2009. Ode to my future. As I go through the day, I think about my hands constantly. It has become a nervous habit, rubbing my sore knuckles. I still pop and snap them all day long, but the affected area has nothing to do with cracking knuckles. It’s age. It’s use. It’s arthritis. You can’t help but notice that Olivia hid her hands. They were always tucked under in a way to not show the arthritis that had settled in her joints. In most posed photos she has her hand hidden from view.

Mabel's Wish: bear ~
http://mabelswish.blogspot.com/2010/06/bear.html
Sunday, June 6, 2010. Gave this little bear tapestry to my boss (Connie) who is retiring in 12 days. She collects Southwestern type bears. So after the workshop with Sarah Swett, I had to weave a little bear for her gift. I placed it in a narrow framed shadow box which made it impossible to take a photo of it. So below is the bear out of the box. June 7, 2010 at 9:35 PM. Hi Miss Julie - so sorry to hear that your mom had a stroke - sounds like she is doing well - give her my best wishes! To be like gra...
