What's Cookin' Today?: Chocolate Delight

http://www.whatsninacookingtoday.blogspot.com/2008/11/chocolate-delight.html

Wednesday, November 19, 2008. This recipe has been in the family for a very long time. I think I initially got the recipe from my sister-in-law, Linda. I suppose the trick when serving this is to make sure it's at the right temperature. A good idea is to pull it out of the freezer when you sit down at the table for the meal. That way, it won't be too hard when dessert time comes! Crust: 1 1/2 sticks softened butter. 1 1/2 C flour. 1 1/2 C chopped pecans. Picture to come.). Thanksgiving Cooking Has Begun!

What's Cookin' Today?: Throw-Ins

http://www.whatsninacookingtoday.blogspot.com/2009/01/throw-ins.html

Friday, January 9, 2009. Wow It's really been a long time since I cooked anything. (Actually, just a long time since I blogged about cooking. Sorry.). I have my terrific mother-in-law to thank for this meal. It's not so much a recipe as it is a wonderful idea. When my husband was growing up, this was a favorite on "family night." Most of the time, they would be made in the fireplace. I use an oven - but for "indoor camping," this is a great meal. Salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle parsley.

The Rice Family: Super Bowl

http://ninajrice.blogspot.com/2011/02/super-bowl.html

Wednesday, February 9, 2011. Once again, it's time for the Super Bowl. Interest was a little below the normal level this year - not really sure why - maybe it was because none of us had a real commitment to either team. But, it's not really about the game, is it? Olivia's first Super Bowl. she couldn't take her eyes off the screen! The boys chowing down on their wings. Robbie and Bekah sampling the wings. (Click on this picture and check out Robbie's face! The Rice Family: Ryan's Home!

http://ninajrice.blogspot.com/2010/12/ryans-home.html

Saturday, December 18, 2010. Well, this is what it looks like when you haven't seen your brother/son for a year. Ry, we're SO glad to have you home. Naturally, it takes about 20 seconds before wrestling ensues. We decided to surprise the boys. Robbie picked them up early from school and told them that Ryan wasn't home yet. Needless to say, they were thrilled to see him. The screams and shrieks were probably heard next door! Not really sure what this is, but I guess it's just my boys being boys.

The Rice Family: Sledding... Finally!

http://ninajrice.blogspot.com/2010/12/sledding-finally.html

Tuesday, December 28, 2010. We finally got some snow, so the boys couldn't wait to go sledding. This is Cole - I barely got any pictures of him because he was off by himself just sledding away. He quickly figured out which sled was the fastest in the deep snow and managed to keep it away from the older boys! Robbie giving Reed another ride. Reed wasn't crazy about the wind and cold so he wasn't out there for too long. next year! Robbie battling 4 little boys. I love this picture of Jack!

The Rice Family: Live Nativity

http://ninajrice.blogspot.com/2010/12/live-nativity.html

Saturday, December 4, 2010. Tonight, we visited the Live Nativity, put on by Valley Church in Granby. Bryan, Kate and the boys went with us. Here are the boys, following the wisemen up to the stable. We got a little extra time with the wisemen because they were the 2nd shift, waiting to take their place. Reed was more interested in the horse during the shepherd's story. Here's the shepherd, telling his story to the kids. He was very animated. Baby Jesus was a doll, and believe me, the boys noticed!

The Rice Family: May 2010

http://ninajrice.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 3, 2010. We took Kel and the boys for a visit to the USS Constitution and some other ship a couple of weeks ago. We were trying to get their minds off our missed trip to TN. Didn't really work, but we had fun anyway. After visiting the ships, we ate at a restaurant in the North End and made a little stop at Mike's Pastry. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Rice Family: August 2010

http://ninajrice.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Well, once again, Florida has come and gone. It was a great 2 weeks with a total of about 45 family members. I love the sense of history at Hacienda Del Sol - I can't believe that the first time I went, Robbie was 9 months old! The weather was perfect, not a single drop of rain during the entire 2 weeks! I still can't believe that! Of course, I have too many pictures to post on here, I'll let you know where I upload them. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Few of Our Favorite Links.

While we're on the subject, I'd like to quote from a book that I've mentioned before. Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life. By Anne Lamott. It relates to a minor panic attack I had a few weeks ago. Panic set in, of course. How could I have only gotten this far? What had I been writing? Had I tried to pack too much into the book? What have I been doing with my life?
