casserole blog: January 2010
http://casseroleblog.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 30, 2010. Finally, some snow! Actually, it was mainly ice with just the tiniest dusting of snow on top. But it was enough to send my daughter into a joyous whirlwind of "It's a wonderland! Our driveway is all white! And of course "Let's go play - NOW! There wasn't enough snow for a snowman, or even a small snowball. But the layer of ice on all the roads made for some AWESOME sledding. It also made the bottom of the slide reeeallly slick. Friday, January 29, 2010. I made it from a Nu-foa...

casserole blog: Little paper houses - a long intro and then a tutorial
http://casseroleblog.blogspot.com/2010/09/little-paper-houses-long-intro-and-then.html
Friday, September 17, 2010. Little paper houses - a long intro and then a tutorial. Sometimes my big fat mouth gets me into trouble. Like when Liv's teacher had a sign-up sheet for parents to come in and do crafts or other fun activities with the kids as a reward for good behavior. "Oooh, this sounds FUN! That wasn't the bad part. The bad part was when I said "Just let me know what weeks aren't covered by other parents and I'll take care of those.". As in, two days to come up with an activity and prep it.

casserole blog: Lookie what Livvie made for her Grandan!
http://casseroleblog.blogspot.com/2010/09/lookie-what-livvie-made-for-her-grandan.html
Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Lookie what Livvie made for her Grandan! I have no idea why it is that I am perpetually unprepared for people's birthdays. It's not that I don't know ahead of time that they're coming up, that I should make a card, or get a gift or do something -anything- in preparation, but somehow I'm all the time rushing around at the last minute. This was my first time I used freezer paper stenciling and I am sooo hooked! 1 Timing. Last minute crafting with a child is sooo stressful!

casserole blog: Yay Goodwill!!
http://casseroleblog.blogspot.com/2010/09/yay-goodwill.html
Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Today I got my first fall paycheck from my teaching gig, and I celebrated it with a whirlwind shopping trip - to the Goodwill. I know that sounds pitiful. I should be celebrating with a trip to the mall or lunch with the girls at a shee-shee bistro. But instead I celebrate the return of bi-weekly paychecks by digging through second-hand clothes. I grabbed up a handful of men's polos and long-sleeved tees with exactly that color tag. And then I took a stroll through the wome...

Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Because this dress is BRIGHT. I made it for my niece's 5th birthday this Saturday. The nieces all play together at my mother-in-law's house and I'm all the time stopping by to try some dress or another on Liv to check the fit. I thought it would be fun for her cousin to get a dress of her own. I should have known better than to heed your warnings. This dress is PERFECT. The brown dot print calms down the pink, but its all still so girly. And that kitty kat - OMG y...Deli meat...

casserole blog: Nothing crafty to show today...
http://casseroleblog.blogspot.com/2010/09/nothing-crafty-to-show-today.html
Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Nothing crafty to show today. Thanks to my headache that is now reaching into its fourth day. Yes, FOURTH day. I am so ready for it to be gone now. So instead I give you a picture of my assistant, who makes the mornings I spend on the couch with the laptop doing school work and blogging (and lately, a sinus headache to boot) a little bit sweeter. Sweet kitteh. Feel better, as a fellow headache sufferer I know 4 days is just way too much! September 1, 2010 at 7:00 PM. This is...

casserole blog: Tutorial: Heart-shaped strawberry makes a lunchtime treat
http://casseroleblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/tutorial-heart-shaped-strawberry-makes.html
Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Tutorial: Heart-shaped strawberry makes a lunchtime treat. So aside from renewing my commitment to my personal blog, another one of my New Year's resolutions was to fix healthier lunches for Liv. But healthy food is not enough, the child has to actually EAT it. And when all the other kids at school are opening brightly colored packages of sugar-packed chips, cookies, etc., plain-jane healthy food just doesn't compete. Want to know how? First, start with a whole strawberry.

casserole blog: April 2010

Friday, April 16, 2010. Rummage sale finds and fireplace progress. I realize that I've started grouping two random topics together in my titles. That's because I get a bit lazy (or maybe it's busy? And forget to blog about things right after they happen. And so when I do get time to sit down and blog, I usually have a few saved up. Tonight the two items are my rummage sale finds and the progress on the fireplace redo. Odd strapless dress (ties in the back). Ugly chenille sweater (to make swiffer cloths).
