What's Cottrell up to? Life in South America. Saturday, September 14, 2013. A Day at the Races. Fridays at my school are extra special because we get to leave early - 2:10pm instead of the normal 4:00pm. Awesome.unless there is an electric storm. My school is very safety conscious. We have a group of teachers that make up La Brigada. We have a device that measures the presence of electric storms and their distance from the school. At a certain distance (not sure what that is.maybe 15 km? About 5 teachers...

What's Cottrell up to? Life in South America. Friday, December 7, 2012. Christmas has arrived to Colombia. Today was the official start of Christmas in Colombia and it definitely felt that way. And encouraging the students to initiate conversations. My fifth graders were very nervous in the beginning but by the end of our time there had made some friends and were telling me all about the amazing people met and the stories they heard. So special! I made the bow for the door. :-). Location: Bogotá, Colombia.

What's Cottrell up to?: April 2013
http://theadventuresofkcottrell.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
What's Cottrell up to? Life in South America. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. These past few days I've been struggling with some sort of stomach bug. But despite the discomfort, I ignored doctor's orders and left my apartment, loaded-up on antibiotics and probiotics (that's confusing) to meet up with a dear friend from grad school, Caterina. Every visit and every conversation gives me a new boost of inspiration. Thanks for a great (no matter how short) visit Cate! Looking forward to more meet-ups in the future.

Adventures of Elisa: June 2012
http://eachen.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 7, 2012. Alas, I am in DC! So far, so good! As I was taking off on my flight from Houston, it finally hit me - I'm leaving my beloved Htown and community for a year. I also realized how richly blessed I am to have such loving friends and family who'd:. Make me the most amazing scrap book ever. Organize an epic night of karaoke filled with dancing, singing and, of course, Asians taking pictures. House me when I'm homeless without electricity. Allow me more PT on the field :). Picture Window...
