Where's Shan Now?

Saturday, October 19, 2013. Recap: A Sailing Adventure. I'd been asked why I never mentioned here that I was going back to Panama to go sailing (as evidenced by this post. My answer was that I'd mostly already told everyone about it in person, so I guess I didn't really feel the need. But now that I'm back home I can expand on things a bit more. What was it like living on a boat? Speaking of food on the boat: Damn, we ate good! So what was my job on the boat, then? How family-like and homey! I saw a big-...

Where's Shan Now?: September 2013

http://whereisshannow.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 13, 2013. In the last five years, I've spent 15 months traveling, so that means 15 of the last 60 months (which, somehow, sounds like more to me) were spent with passport in hand. That, of course, doesn't include long weekend jaunts here and there. My passport only has three blank pages in it now and it doesn't expire for four years, so I'll probably end up needing to have pages added before too long. Pink sunset at Bocas). Links to this post. Where's Shan Now?: SCUBA

http://whereisshannow.blogspot.com/2010/04/scuba.html

Wednesday, April 7, 2010. I arrived in Koh Tao yesterday and got to the hotel where I wanted to stay only to find that there was no record of my confirmation. It's kind of a long, uninteresting story, but the bottom line is that I'm staying at AC Resort, a hotel associated with the dive club that I'm using, Phoenix Divers. I'm sharing a room with Brendan, a guy I only just met here in Koh Tao. We're in the same dive class so we have an air-con room for free for four nights (and free breakfast, too).

Military Mommy: October 2010

http://militarymommy-amy.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Living the Frugal Life. Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Wow Where to begin? So much has been going on and life has really just seemed to have gotten away from me here lately. For starters, TJ has been gone for 194 days now! I can't believe it has been that long since I have been able to hold and kiss the love of my life! Luckily R&R is coming up right around the corner and I can't wait! Also on top of all of this, I've been scheduled for surgery on November 17th. It's nothing too serious really, but I'l...

I had some girlfriends over to celebrate with me on Friday. We had a good time but I can't wait till my husband comes home and we can have our big joined 30th birthday party! Since I have nothing else exciting, I'll leave you with some jokes my grandma sent me in my birthday card:. I asked. 'Because I use my Guard pay for spending money.' 'So? Occasio...

Military Mommy: March 2010

http://militarymommy-amy.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Living the Frugal Life. Tuesday, March 23, 2010. As time approaches, we're just trying to spend as much time together as a family as possible. Please bear with me while posting is practically non-existent. I promise I will get back into the routine of regular blogging soon. There are lots of feelings and emotions I'd like to discuss but don't want to just yet as I don't want to take time away from our togetherness. Links to this post. Saturday, March 13, 2010. So I had an idea to start working on goal #12.

Military Mommy: January 2009

http://militarymommy-amy.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Living the Frugal Life. Thursday, January 8, 2009. I know everyone has already posted their resolutions but I didn't even begin to think about it until a few days ago. Here is what I've come up with so far:. 1 Continue going to the gym. 2 Say yes more often to the kids. I feel like I'm constantly telling them no. Take this scenario from last night:. But didn't say anything. So my goal is to take instances like this and try to say "yes" more often. 3 Make more time for me. B) While I've been reading more ...

Living the Frugal Life. Friday, August 27, 2010. Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-In #10. I never got around to doing Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-In's last week since I was in Pittsburgh. But I'm back this week for week #10. Here are the questions for this week:. What secret indulgence do you act on while your spouse is away? If you were a spice, what would you be? From New Girl On Post. Where do you go for support when your significant other is deployed? What is the oldest thing you own? The oldest thing I own, is act...

Living the Frugal Life. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. The Joys of my Life. Yea so, my night. My six (almost seven) year old son to run away. He was in the midst of one of his "episodes" tonight (which lately happen ALL the time) when he screamed at me that he wanted to run away. I simply told him that was fine and he could get his stuff when we got home and go. When I finally let him back in and he was finally out of his "mood", he was ready to sit down for homework time. Living the Frugal Life. Living the Frugal Life. My real friends (meaning I actually know them) think I am a couponing queen and bargain hunter. Military Mommy: Weigh In Friday

http://militarymommy-amy.blogspot.com/2011/02/weigh-in-friday.html

Living the Frugal Life. Sunday, February 27, 2011. Yes, I know it is not Friday but my weekend has gotten away from me. I was nervous to weigh in this week because I knew I ate like crap at the baby shower on Saturday. I also didn't get to go to the gym on Monday because schools were closed and the kids were home and then didn't get to go on Tuesday either because schools were closed with the stupid snow. I was actually preparing myself to gain a pound or two. So here is where I currently stand:. He had ...

I'm pretty hard to find.but you can always find me here! July 24, 2012. Isn't it funny how we as humans impose our own emotions on our pets? For example: The remaining two chickens I have are doing fine, but I'm convinced they are sad and lonely without their sister. In reality, they probably already forgot about Rafiki (RIP!
