Telling the Tales from the Far East

Telling the Tales from the Far East. Saturday, June 13, 2009. Beijing- Chinese New Year 2009 Trip. At least, according to them, since it was a government owned shop, the quality would be the highest, and the price would be the lowest in all of China. I don't see why they would lie. Also along with a guide, and other stops at government owned gift shops, we were able to see the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace. Only a little understanding though. The Great Wall had a lot of hype...

Telling the Tales from the Far East: Rainy Hualien trip with Amii

http://wherethehellisethan.blogspot.com/2009/01/rainy-hualien-trip-with-amii.html

Telling the Tales from the Far East. Thursday, January 8, 2009. Rainy Hualien trip with Amii. A few weeks ago, Amii and I decided to take a trip on our scooters to Hualien and Taroko Gorge. However, about two hours into the drive, it started raining and we decided instead to stay at Sun Moon Lake (see the previous blog entry). A few weeks later, we made the trip again, and this time we were successful. Right outside of Taichung, just beginning our trip. 真的很漂亮 (my chinese is awesome). The clouds touching ...

Telling the Tales from the Far East. Monday, November 24, 2008. Rainy Sun Moon Lake trip with Amii. We set off super-early Saturday morning, the 8th of September. But once we got to Puli (about 2 hours into the drive), it started drizzling rain. We had to make a decision. continue on our trek and hope that the weather improves, or abandon our plans and hang out at the nearby Sun Moon lake for the weekend. We chose the latter. Lots of pretty flowers and pretty girls at Sun Moon lake.

Telling the Tales from the Far East: Fortune Telling

http://wherethehellisethan.blogspot.com/2008/06/fortune-telling.html

Telling the Tales from the Far East. Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Recently I started dating a very sweet girl named Amii. There are several benefits to having a Taiwanese girlfriend. My Chinese improves much faster. If anything slightly complicated needs to be done (such as ordering a book or getting a scooter fixed) you have someone to translate. She will make you try food that, as a foreigner, you would have no idea even existed (or probably wanted to know existed). Amii had recently been to two different f...

Telling the Tales from the Far East: Kindy Graduation

http://wherethehellisethan.blogspot.com/2008/07/kindy-graduation.html

Telling the Tales from the Far East. Sunday, July 27, 2008. On July 19th, my Da-ban kindergarten class graduated. They worked really hard the past few months to put on a show for the ceremony, and all did an excellent job. Seeing the kids dressed up as butterflies, alligators, frogs, and Cuban Mambo dancers. Watching the curtain fall on two different kids, and the confusion that ensued when they got trapped on the opposite side of it. Here are some pics:. Jimmy, Ryan, Neil and Yvonne. I was Sir Newton.

Where The Hell Is David?

Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Hawk Haven Winery Rio Grande, NJ. On my way down to see Cape May Brewing Company. I drove past a sign for Hawk Haven Winery. Links to this post. Cape May Brewing Co. Last weekend I ventured down to Cape May to see about a new brewery right here in our county and aptly named the Cape May Brewing Company. They've been open for a little less than a year, but they're getting ready to expand so I'll be visiting them again soon. Keep a look out around June or July. Links to this post.

Hanna's Travels

As you might have noticed from my absence, Ive been traveling. For a while. And then some more. interrupted by strolling around, enjoying Shanghai in spring (wonderful! Meeting the Chinese fellows and teachers and eating lots (no, LOTS) of good Chinese food. In between, Ive been trying to fix my computer to finally get online. Turns out that a driver for my ethernet connection was missing. natural thing to happen to me it seems. Try explaining (over the phone, no hand-speaking and gestures possible!

South America

5 days / 5 nights. Mein Profil vollständig anzeigen. Freitag, 22. Januar 2016. 5 days / 5 nights. Travelling like that is the cheapest way to go from A to B on the Amazonas river and quite a lot of people make use of that. The bathrooms and facilities are quite basic and well, often frankly also quite disgusting. But this toilet with a view is at least creative! There were also a lot of thumbs up included! And maybe as this was also a new experience to me, I have to mention that sleeping in a hammock is ...
