She checked on Winston for many years while Darren worked long hours at work, and Winston always made it clear to her that he was in charge. Green fields of open spaces. Chasing the distant goal. Intriguing long awaited questions. Time presents no answer. Mystery forever binds whippet lore. Assertively brash, simply free. Independent is the whippet. Seasons of the past. The whippet and greyhound. Foremost a noble history. Ancient times and royal lines. Windhund ( Wind Dog). Willfully running at pleasure. Traits of child-like play. Darting at will for the thrill. Whimsical becomes the whippet. Expected demands fully met.

At The Whippet Bridge. By Darren M Grine. You were so excited when I became a part of your family. Since I’m a whippet, you put up with me as I became demanding. When I was hungry or thirsty, you graciously tended to me. In return, I happily jumped up and gave you a grateful licking. If I got sick we went to the vet and made sure I stayed healthy. When you were ill I laid next to you while you were sleeping. My favorite thing to do was to chase the ball and do as I please. As time passes, I’ll be waiting...

Wesley

For six years he enjoyed playing with his companion Blue, a heeler, and he was devastated when Blue passed away in January of 2004. Wesley now has a new friend named Cole who was adopted from a shelter at four months old in February 2004. Cole is a heeler like Blue, but has the similar traits of a whippet. Both Wesley and Cole are best friends and are inseparable.
