Helgeland and Svartisen - is a well-guarded secret by the Arctic Circle. Here you will not find the highest peaks, but you can easily be enchanted by the surroundings. Norways second largest glacier Svartisen has many surrounding mountains for skiing with breath taking views. Most famous are the seven peaks called the seven sisters. But also Helgelandsbukken and the area around. Glomfjord has many ideal ski peaks. 5 days ski and Hurtigruten cruise. 7 days ski and Hurtigruten cruise.

Lofoten Island - is located about 300 km north of the Arctic Circle east of Narvik city. The archipelago consists of seven islands, of which five are related to the E10 highway and ferries can reach the other two. Lofoten is the sea eagles empire with wild and uncompromising scenery. Steep mountain walls that rise from the sea offers great summit to sea skiing. The highest peaks stretch 1,200 vertical meters above the sea level and can provide skiing of different difficulty.

Derfor blir det en lang frokost og diskusjon rundt turvalg. Vi er begge skjønt enige om at vi må vite mer om forholdene i fjellet før vi begir oss inn i terreng med østlig og nordlig eksposisjon. Fikk imidlertid gjort unna en del vask etc., slik at vi er kanonklare for en ny uke. Dagen i dag starter også grå, men et par jobbtelefoner gjør at vi fort kommer på hugget. Følg Trond and Olav med venner på skiturer. Sørfjelltinden 1.468 moh. Våkner opp nord i Tamokdalen – det vil si ved inngangsporten til Lyngenhalvøya (som vi sparer til senere). Været er helt greit – lettskyet, oppholdsvær. Vi spiser, rigger og er i bindingene halv elleve. Ja, det er litt senere enn ’normalt’, men når vårsnøen kommer bestemmes tidspunktene mer av vær og turens eksposisjonsretning. Siden vi skal ned er vest- / nordvestvendt, noe som betyr at solen kommer sent. Et typisk feil rutevalg!

Rett før vi labber i vei møter vi naboen som også er skikjører. Han kan fortelle at dagens mål er en populær tur i området og at skiskyttergutta med Hegle Svendsen i spissen hadde vært oppe uken før i forbindelse med NM på Bardufoss. Tirsdag 22. mars 2011. Final harbour - hunt for powder at mountain X in Glomfjord. Leaving Lofoten is never easy, but waking up to sunny Glomfjord quickly removed the focus to our next adventure. Straight from the quai we cheked in at the hotel for breakfast. After 3 days of climbing, exit at 10:00 was well received in the group. Getting the latest weather update from the locals we started to believe this day had soem great skiing to offer. And as many times before Glomfjord delivered:-).
