Whitney Hand Forged Knives. Tuesday, May 8, 2007. Some of my work. If you want a factory made knife, there are many available. Each is like it's brother, qualities vary between manufacturers. There is little personality or life in them. If they were even handled, it was on an assembly line or in a shipping department. The knives in these pictures are made of High Carbon steel. Usually 5160 or 1075. These steels are durable and hold a great edge. They can also be sharpened easily. All are. Some of my work.
