People Raising: A Practical Guide to Raising Support - W. P. Dillon. The big strengths I see in People Raising. Dillon also includes a section on very practical ways to pray for missionaries that gets beyond the vague generalities. The key weakness I see in People Raising. This book would be a good read for anyone involved in financial support-raising, whether it’s someone just starting out, or someone seeking to strengthen an existing support base. I think it may also be a good read for pastor...Deputat...

Nelson's Biblical Cyclopedic Index. Nelson’s Biblical Cyclopedic Index has proven to be an excellent resource in Bible study and sermon preparation. I enjoyed this tool as part of The Open Bible. Study bible I had, but it’s nice to have it in a stand-alone format. I found the book very easy to use, and fairly comprehensive. The organization of the book makes sense, and includes names and place names, as well as ample references and examples. Book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a...

Charles Scribner, Jr was once quoted, “Reading is a means of thinking with another person's mind; it forces you to stretch your own.”. Peanut Butter Friends in a Chop Suey World - Deb Brammer. I'm proud to introduce this review, courtesy of my oldest daughter, who has found this book to be immensely helpful in her life as part of a missionary family. Michelle and I are thrilled to see her maturing into a fine young lady with a heart please the Lord. I recently found a book called Peanut Butter Friends in a Chop Suey World, written by Deb Brammer. When I heard it was about a girl my age on the mission field I decided to read it. By Delux...

Love and Respect - Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. There were not very many drawbacks to the book, in my opinion, but here were a couple of things that I noticed. I often felt that Eggerichs gave more space to glowing testimonials than was necessary. That is probably what led to the other drawback- It took entirely too long to read for the substance of the book. I enjoyed reading it, but it could have been just as good with less testimonials. I'm reading: Love and Respect - Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. By Ravi Zacharia...

New Birth or Rebirth? Jesus Talks with Krishna" - Ravi Zacharias. Ravi does a masterful job of not only drawing a stark contrast between the simplicity of Christianity against the complexity of Hinduism, but also of dealing with the false (but often repeated) premise that all religions are essentially the same and the differences are superficial. His point is that:. It is more correct to say that all religions are , at best, superficially similar but fundamentally different.". Posted by Jonathan McPeters.
