Just bleugh – widowspeaks

https://widowspeaks.wordpress.com/2011/06/21/just-bleugh

Life as a young(ish) widow. June 21, 2011. I’ve been feeling pretty lousy over the past couple of weeks; like I’m carrying a huge weight on my shoulders. I’m tired and grumpy and have no patience with the kids. I took my first sleeping pill in ages the other day and slept in so the kids were late for school – only slightly though. Just thinking of that has made me realise just how hard it is going to be when we scatter the rest of his ashes on Iona in august. Every Time We Say Goodbye →. You are commenti...

November 2011 – widowspeaks

https://widowspeaks.wordpress.com/2011/11

Life as a young(ish) widow. November 1, 2011. The week away at Oban/Iona went pretty well – it was nice to be with the family and we had a beautiful day on Iona where we scattered F’s ashes near the Abbey and then paddled in the sea. Then in the evening we sang happy birthday to him as we launched some chinese lanterns. And then a couple of weeks after returning from the trip, my life changed in an extremely unexpected way. I met somebody who makes me smile this much:. Join 65 other followers.

December 2012 – widowspeaks

https://widowspeaks.wordpress.com/2012/12

Life as a young(ish) widow. December 13, 2012. A letter to Fraser. I know you’re not anywhere to read this, but I wanted to write it anyway. It’s been 2 years now since we were last together and I want you to know how things are going, how the boys are, what’s happening in our lives. It hurts so much to know that I can’t tell you these things, so I’m just going to pretend you can read this and tell you anyway. And me. How am I doing? So, that’s about it – you know I was never one for writing ...Enter you...

Life as a young(ish) widow. May 30, 2011. They need to stop selling Thonton’s misshapes so cheap…. It’s really depressing to pack for your holiday and discover that most of your clothes don’t fit you any more because of compulsive comfort eating of chocolate…. May 27, 2011. If it weren’t for the kids demanding me to break out, I think I would stay inside my cocoon all day. Dulled and apathetic. Existing, not living. On these cotton wool days. May 24, 2011. To function after something like this as. It mak...

Post Wedding Uff Dah. I’m not sure why we decided to open gifts so early the day after our wedding. Some advice to pending newlyweds, gifts can wait! Sleep in and then go on a honeymoon instead! Steve and I were completely exhausted! The week before your wedding is so busy. Running errands, crossing things off your to-do list, not to mention all the emotions that come with approaching the biggest day of your life. Widows Speak

A blog primarily for widows.not gloomy.but created with the hope of offering and sharing positive advice for a newly single life. Saturday, March 27, 2010. I enjoy writing Haiku and find writing them very therapeutic. Here are some of my efforts. The first two relate to hope and happy memories:. The lark's joyous song. Fills the gloomy weeping sky. And I look upwards. Bring a gentle smile. And this one is for John whose passion was to fish on the Waitemata harbour at dawn. Golden glow on silver sea.

WidowSphere: A Circle of Hope

Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Quote for the Week. Sunday, August 9, 2015. A fun read about "buried treasure." Revisits the detective and others from Mr. Mercedes. Sometimes I read Young Adult books that pique my interest. This was one: a dystopian universe in the future with various groups of different status (Don't they all have these? A young girl from the Scholars group and a young man at a training school where his mother is the scary commandant. I'm looking forward to the second book in the series.
