Originally formed in June 1996 by a small group of about 12 enthusiasts, the club has steadily grown to a lively and active 40 members. Meetings were held in an old Church in Wigan, the HQ of the Wigan Sea Cadets but the club has since moved to Platt Bridge Community Centre, Victoria Street, Platt Bridge, Wigan, WN2 5AH Map.
