Sunday, March 31, 2013. This is a dense, rich cake that is excellent with tea or coffee. The combination of lavender and honey makes for a unique flavor. Make sure to use food-grade lavender, you can buy it online or find it in the bulk food bins as organic grocery stores, herb stores, or the like. The honey helps the cake stay moist, so it will keep a little longer than most cakes. 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter. 1/2 cup raw cane sugar. 1/2 cup honey (lavender honey if you have it). 1 tsp baking powder.
