Adventures in the Kitchen: Bo Ssam - wildernesse

http://www.wildernesse.us/archives/2012/01/adventures-in-t.html

Adventures in the Kitchen: Bo Ssam. January 25, 2012 9:46 AM. The moment I read the associated article for this in the NYT. I felt that this was something RA and I would have a good time making. It just sounded like something right up our alley, and delish. Plus, it was something we could do in stages and not get too stressed out about it. After RA came home from work and finished up some paperwork, we headed out to grab some dinner and pick up a few things at the nearby Korean market, Paldo Market.

October 16, 2007 9:45 PM. We went to the State Fair tonight, and it was marvelous! We walked all over the place and still didn’t see the horses or the grist mill or the forestry section. We paid an exorbitant amount of money to ride the Ferris Wheel and walk through a hall of mirrors. The exhibits were the best part of the evening. There was the prize-winning giant pumpkin, beautiful quilts and clothes, bees and honey, a cow worth $25,000, and a baby mule! We had a great time, although my legs are worn o...

Goals update. - wildernesse

http://www.wildernesse.us/archives/2012/09/goals-update.html

September 16, 2012 1:24 PM. My, oh my, it has been a while. We have moved to a new home since January, so packing and unpacking are bizarrely still part of our lives as we settle in. I have made some friends through church and storytime and babywearing. I think the meet new people goal is going along quite well, and much better than I expected. I am not doing so well with this, so maybe I can make some time in the remaining year to go out birding for a bit. This page contains a single entry by wildernesse.

Books - wildernesse

http://www.wildernesse.us/archives/2010/11/i-have-always-b.html

November 27, 2010 9:35 AM. I have always been a reader. I learned to read well before school, and was rarely seen without a book or heard for long without the phrase I read it in a book! Being spoken. Trips to the library were frequent, and one of the first things I do when moving to a new town is to stop by the library and get a new card. The NYT released its Notable Books of the Year list this weekend, as well as its book critics’ 10 best books of the year lists as part of its Holiday Gift Guide. By So...

End of the Ten Percent Challenge! September 14, 2005 12:02 AM. Well, well, well! The Ten Percent Challenge (TPC) has come to an end (because it’s midnight)! Overall, I think I’ve done ok. I am still drinking plenty of water and I am choosing to drink water even when we go out, which I rarely if ever did before. I didn’t get much exercise in the past couple of weeks, because of silly excuses, but I have been exercising more than usual. And the fruit eating is going well. I can’t do all of those things at ...

Not A Pretty Girl: A Little Relieved

http://notaprettygrrl.blogspot.com/2009/06/little-relieved.html

Not A Pretty Girl. I've got better things to do than survive.". Thursday, June 18, 2009. I'm not sure why, but I have been REALLY stressed for the last 2 weeks and today, I just feel better. I think a lot of my stress had to do with my best friend's wedding, which is silly, but it's just a big deal and I want it to be great, ya know? The rest of it had to do with money - mostly K's money problems. But he is almost caught up on all of his bills now so that lightens things up a bit too. Its funny actually ...

Not A Pretty Girl. I've got better things to do than survive.". Tuesday, June 02, 2009. The following lawsuits were filed in central. This week. At least one of them should make you laugh. 2 Negligence action claiming the plaintiff was struck in the head, shoulders and back when a box of frozen dinners fell on her while an employee of the defendant's was stocking boxes in the frozen food section. 3 Negligence complaint. Defendant hit the plaintiff in the head with a bulk mail carrier.

Not A Pretty Girl. I've got better things to do than survive.". Monday, March 30, 2009. We came back up here saturday evening, and I got to show her where the new house will be built. I think she liked it! So, it was a good weekend with lots of adventuring! We even saw some alligators on the ride home! And my sister saw a cow running! We didn't even know cows could run! Saturday, March 21, 2009. K has bromances, though he would hate it if I called it that! I also think that, just like a lot of men can be...

Cache Valley Utah: May 2008

http://cachevalleyutah.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 29, 2008. Mud Season Trail Report. The Logan Ranger Station. Has a recreation update. Update: May 31. Perhaps because it's been 7 days since the recreation report was updated, but the Jardine Juniper trail is almost completely dry to the split (near the top). Take the scenic route to avoid snow and mud. The snow and mud on the shady route is easy to navigate on foot. I've heard that both Wind Caves and Crimson are plenty dry. Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Update on the Park Strip. Saturday May 17t...

Cache Valley Utah: Cowboy Cuisine

http://cachevalleyutah.blogspot.com/2007/07/cowboy-cuisine.html

Thursday, July 19, 2007. I went to the "Italian" Place. Last week on the recommendation of a coworker. It's right across from the Ibis coffee shop. Anyways. There's nothing Italian about it. It's a complete curiosity. It's really cowboy cuisine (is that a recognized food category) on sandwiches. I had the house specialty, steak, egg, cheese, mushroom, peppers and onions. It's like a Denver omelet meets cheese steak. I have a project. Here's some recipes. July 20, 2007 at 7:00 AM. Information on the Area.

Cache Valley Utah: June 2009

http://cachevalleyutah.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 14, 2009. The spinach has been loving the rain. I harvested quite a bit yesterday and there's more still in the garden. Since I also went to the gardener's market yesterday and got some fresh eggs, I decided on a quiche. I've never made a quiche before, but figured it seems like a dish that would be very forgiving. I used the bacon that had been in my freezer since Christmas. A crust I had in the freezer from ages ago and fresh chives from my garden. 75 cup low fat cottage cheese. I haven't ...

Saturday, November 29, 2008. Daring Baker's Challenge Nov 2008: Candy Lab. A couple of months ago I ran across a blog of someone who had done a Daring Baker's Challenge. I was attracted to the community of alternative bakers. The idea is that everyone involved cooks the same recipe and posts it on their blogs once a month on the same day. The rules are that you follow the recipe and instructions as directed unless you have a health concern that prevents you from doing so. Jen of Foray into Food. I opted ...

Cache Valley Utah: April 2009

http://cachevalleyutah.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 30, 2009. No Swine Flu in Cache Valley.Yet. I might have thought Utah would be protected more than other states, particularly out of ski season. But I guess the locals have been high tailing it to Mexico for mudseason and they've brought back pandemic flu. Swell. The Salt Lake Tribune. Is reporting that there are 5 cases in the state. Here in Cache Valley, we take our threats seriously. A coworker just went out to grab some hand sanitizer and it's getting hard to come by. Then perchance t...
