A Breath Between Storms | wildernessrambler
https://wildernessrambler.wordpress.com/2015/02/04/251
A Weekend in the Wilderness. A Breath Between Storms. February 4, 2015. No one in Boston was surprised when Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Monday. Not even a week after Winter Storm Juno, the city was once again slammed by a wintry slush mix. Six more weeks of winter? You don’t say…. But I just dried my snowpants…. Unfortunately, I ran out of ways to take artistic shots of ice on glass after about three photos. At least I hope this is artistic. Shortest line I’ve ever seen for the whale tours. You a...

A Weekend in the Wilderness. February 25, 2015. I land in New Orleans and, already, everything feels different. The weather is obviously nicer, and I take full advantage of the warmer temps to throw off my winter fleece and once again enjoy the sight of my stark white arms. More than that, there’s an energy that seems to hum through the air. Um…why is this above the urinal? Good to know…. We have to say Cafe Maude wins. It’s a very surreal space and one that is a pleasure to explore until our hunger prom...

A Weekend in the Wilderness. February 18, 2015. Caryn and I decide to spend my final afternoon in Big Sur. It’s a chilly day in Northern California, but that doesn’t stop us from putting down the top in her daisy-yellow Punch Buggy convertible. The road out of Monterey quickly winds and takes blind turns as we pass hillside mansions nestled among trees that wouldn’t be out of place in the great forests of the Northwest. Just a great day for sunbathin’. What up, Boston? We walk for a while and watch the f...

A Weekend in the Wilderness. March 3, 2015. The best way to say goodbye to such a city seems to be through a walking ghost tour of the city. Very excited to start a night tour of the city…with beer in hand! The Omni Royale, one of the many buildings that can claim a resident ghost to their history. Open plazas take on a whole new beauty by night. Ghosts are prevalent all around the city. In lieu of them, I have a cool photo of shadows. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
A Bittersweet Farewell | wildernessrambler

A Weekend in the Wilderness. March 10, 2015. My time in New Orleans serves as a crash course in modern art. Not the style, but the people who still use its medium to their story and make a living. The old French Quarter is full of art galleries for us to wander through, admire the work, and then quietly exit with wallets still safely tucked into our pockets. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
