Wild Flowers of Wexford. Wednesday, 19 October 2016. Fumaria bastardii (Tall Ramping-fumitory) var. hibernica and var. bastardii. This time of year the Fumaria are coming into their own again. Above is a large stand of var. hibernica along a road bank in Wexford. Var. hibernica is slightly rarer than var. bastardii in the county. Sometimes you can see both growing together. Then it is obvious they are different. Below - Fumaria bastardii var. bastardii - note the upper petal is pale pink.

Wild Flowers of Wexford. Wednesday, 24 February 2016. Prunus cerasifera (Cherry Plum) flowering today. Cherry Plum has just started flowering. Rather late this year, as I normally see it flowering in January. A strange spring as several species are rather late to start flowering this year. Note the green twigs in the below photo. Wild Flowers of Wexford. Saturday, 11 June 2016. Hedera algeriensis (Algerian Ivy) in Wexford. Found another site for Algerian Ivy today. Growing on a road bank with Hedera hibernica (Atlantic Ivy) which has light brown hairs. The shiny light green leaves are of A. Ivy and the dark green leaves at very top of photo are Atlantic Ivy. This is the 12th site now for Algerian Ivy. The bottom of the 3 photos you can just make out the ginger hairs on the young shoot. Monday, 6 June 2016. Saturday, 4 June 2016.
