Joyful Hearts and Faces: May 2015
http://joyfulheartsandfaces6.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 29, 2015. My Week In Images. We had tears, joy, and lots of fun. It was crazier than ever and then I came home with a nasty head cold. So I'll write a fair post next week, for now here are some photos from my week:. They remind me that summer is coming. Because they got us through another fair. These green spaces that I see all over my town. Because we love taking walks and using them. Which I was glad to be in the front of on Monday, when we picked up our two remaining animals from the fair.

Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Schoolhouse Review} SmartKidz Media. We don't do too much TV watching. No cable, just the basic channels, which in my opinion, don't offer much. But there are some really neat educational programs out there, and every once in a while, I would love access to good programs to supplement our schooling. And that is where the SmartKids Media Library for Homeschoolers. Steps in to help. This is truly a media library. There are different areas to choose a video from:. Music and Fine Arts.

Joyful Hearts and Faces: {Schoolhouse Review} ~ UnLock Math
http://joyfulheartsandfaces6.blogspot.com/2015/07/schoolhouse-review-unlock-math.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Schoolhouse Review} UnLock Math. Math is a hard subject for me to teach. So far, I have brought two students through the world of algebra, and this next year it is Dasher's turn. This is where UnLock Math. And their UnLock Pre-Algebra. Program comes to the rescue. UnLock Math is an online homeschool math curriculum. Now I know there are lots of these types of programs out there, but there are some unique qualities to this one that I really liked. First up is the Warm Up. This fi...

Joyful Hearts and Faces: {Journal Entry} Family Reunion 2015
http://joyfulheartsandfaces6.blogspot.com/2015/08/journal-entry-family-reunion-2015.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Journal Entry} Family Reunion 2015. We recently had our annual trip up to Oregon for our family reunion. Can you believe we have been doing this every year for 8 years? It takes us about 8 hours to get up there, but with the late summer sun hours, we get there with plenty of time for a dip in the pool. The age range of all the cousins are from 4 to 18, 2 boys and 7 girls. They have a blast together. The first full day we tried out a new place, Cascadia State Park. The last day we...

Joyful Hearts and Faces: September 2014

Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Crew Review} Fix It! I have a confession to make. I don't know how to diagram. I am sure at one point in my education I did learn diagramming, but it is forever lost in my brain somewhere. And I really don't miss it. Does that mean that I don't think that grammar is important to learn? Absolutely not, in fact grammar is a necessary part of my children's education, and the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW). Grammar program is a wonderful, pain-free way to learn grammar.

Monday, December 29, 2014. Pin Trading at Disneyland. I had wanted to write this post weeks ago, but time just got away from me. It is doing that a lot lately. Anyways, I did lots of research before our trip to Disneyland. And one of the fun things I read about was Pin Trading. Basically, a few cast members at Disney are pin traders and will trade pins with people who have the Disney pins. These pins range from ANYTHING Disney so the options are endless. There are some rules. Only one pin trade per person.

Joyful Hearts and Faces: Camp Donuts
http://joyfulheartsandfaces6.blogspot.com/2011/08/camp-donuts.html
Friday, August 19, 2011. Why not combine them? I tend to pick pretty easy and quick type meals on our camping trips.who wants to come home from the lake and spend an hour preparing food that has a 90% chance of having dirt and ash in it? Anyway, this is an idea given to me by my chocoholic friend, Lisa. First you begin with those nasty, refrigerated biscuits. (Hey, if a little dirt doesn't hurt, than neither does a little partially hydrogenated oil.). Meanwhile, I put powdered sugar and some cinnamon in ...
