Adventures in (AVC)HD: June 2012
http://wilsonedit.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
A blog about shooting, editing, AVCHD and more. Friday, June 15, 2012. A client of mine is having an odd problem. He's using a 4TB G-RAID as an edit drive and we're connecting it to his iMac via eSATA using Lacie's eSATA Hub. The hub converts the eSATA to Thunderbolt. We have a faster 4-drive eSATA RAID (from OWC) connected to the other eSATA port on this hub. The OWC eSATA enclosure has had zero issues, but we're having problems with the G-RAID. A blog about shooting, editing, AVCHD and more. Tuesday, January 26, 2010. FW800 vs. eSATA. It's an established fact that SATA is faster than FW800. I know a lot of editors who own external drives like G-RAIDs but never use the e-SATA connection, sticking to FW800 instead. I recently purchased a SATA card for my Mac Pro and connected my G-RAID up via eSATA. Here are the speed differences:. Click on the video for an HD version:. Mr Danby/Mr. Blackman. A blog about shooting, editing, AVCHD and more. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Another New AVCHD-based Camera. Sony has released the new NEX FS 100, an AVCHD camera that seems to be aiming its sites on Panasonic's AF100 with its large sensor (S35), ability to interchange lenses, real video controls on camera like iris, gain and volume control as well as XLR audio inputs. There is already some varying opinion on how good or mediocre this camera might be. From the ProVideo Coalition. Thursday, March 17, 2011.
Adventures in (AVC)HD: Bug Fixes for Premiere Pro CS6
http://wilsonedit.blogspot.com/2012/05/bug-fixes-for-premiere-pro-cs6.html
A blog about shooting, editing, AVCHD and more. Friday, May 25, 2012. Bug Fixes for Premiere Pro CS6. Adobe has just updated Premiere Pro (along with After Effects) with a number of bug fixes and some added features. I'm most interested in the OpenCL improvements they promise for the Macbook Pros (Thunderbolt models). Adobe has yet to add the GPUs found in the latest iMacs to the OpenCL Mercury Playback Engine, but hopefully soon. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

A blog about shooting, editing, AVCHD and more. Friday, March 12, 2010. To be honest, I don't have a whole lot to report on the world of AVCHD. The last few months have brought more freelance editing gigs away from my own stuff. I did get a chance to edit with some Red and Canon 5D footage, but other than a few small things here and there I haven't really edited any material that originated in AVCHD since last year. Southern Wanderings: November 2010
http://www.southernwanderings.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Adventures by land and river. Wednesday, November 24, 2010. After my first visit to Zion National Park in 2000, I left knowing I had visited the most beautiful spot on Earth. I've been back two more times, including most recently this past September, and I still feel the same way. There is something very special about this place and you have to be there to truly feel it. And of course pictures do not do the place justice. The ascent to Angels Landing. A great view in Springdale. Get my flip flops! In con...

Adventures by land and river. Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Melting in the Valley of Fire. Oasis in the desert along Northshore Road. Back in early September, Brian and I traveled to parts of Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. You can read about the first part of our vacation spent at Hoover Dam and Lake Mead here. With sparkling blue Lake Mead as a backdrop. We encountered several bicyclists, and if it hadn't been hotter than Hades, then I would have loved to join them. Park entrance to Valley of Fire SP.
