Saturday, August 8, 2015. This was SUCH a fun year at the Fair. Cole was the perfect age to take it all in and enjoy the festivities. Shirley watched Cole while I did this and was able to take him to the Fun Day activities put on by the Rec Center. He got a snake painted on his arm and won a prize at the ring toss. Friday, October 31, 2014. It was our annual chili Halloween supper. Thank goodness we had a child to trick or treat with! Elsy was a cute ladybug, and she has an escort of 6 adults to get her candy on our street. Those of us that don't like the cold, stay behind and played Hit or Miss. We had chili and apple crisp. Friday, June 26, 2015. Julie and Elsy Visit. Julie put lots of fun pics on Facebook of their visit. It was great. Absolutely wonderful! Here are a few pictures she didn't have. Julie was the cool mom who bought food for the fish at the zoo. The kids had fun throwing it in! I texted Julie today with all the new mom things I implemented after being around her. Saturday, August 29, 2015. We heard of this thing called "Fourth Friday" in downtown Olathe. No one had ever talked about it so we weren't sure what to expect but it was free and gave us something to do! The Olathe library was there for story time and a craft. There was a balloon artist. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Sublette raised money to put in a new park up by the city pool. After quite a few delays, it is open for business and it is AWESOME! We went for the first time this week after going to the pool. They have a small, short area for kids Cole's size, and it's just perfect for him. He hasn't ventured to the very top (it's probably two-stories tall), but I'm sure that day isn't too far away. I'm grateful for a town that thinks to invest in these sorts of things. The reign in spain.

Saturday, August 8, 2015. Cole has been changing a lot lately, growing up. One of the biggest changes I've been noticing is his newfound ability to play by himself for longer. This sometimes-weary-mama thought this day would never come! But check him out playing with his guys from Grandma Ellis the other morning. Tucking them in so they don't get cold. "Nigh-Night" he says. And here he is at the library very contentedly playing with the different toys there. I thought this day would NEVER come!

Thursday, July 30, 2015. Great Mall is almost dead! Charlotte and I went to a movie at the Great Mall this afternoon. They had the corridors by the mall blocked off. It was like being in a place where the world had stopped. No one around. One girl was the only one working in the theater. There was only one person in our theater watching the movie.
