The Grape Press: Autumn and Winter Wines
http://grape-press.blogspot.com/2015/10/autumn-and-winter-wines.html
Exploring the world of wine and beyond. Monday, 26 October 2015. Autumn and Winter Wines. As the days grow shorter and the air grows cooler, we find ourselves leaving behind the pale roses and fresh whites which saw us through the 35 degree days of summer and reaching for the reds in the wine rack. While many are sad to see the warm days go for another year, we can take heart as we enter autumn and eventually winter because these are the seasons when wine truly shines. Beyond the French classics, there a...

The Grape Press: King of Wines, Wine of Kings- Tokaji
http://grape-press.blogspot.com/2012/02/king-of-wines-wine-of-kings-tokaji.html
Exploring the world of wine and beyond. Tuesday, 7 February 2012. King of Wines, Wine of Kings- Tokaji. If you would like to read about the individual wines tasted on this trip, there will be posts in the future, but this one is intended to stand apart. Historically, wines from the Tokaj region, both dry and sweet are legendary. The name is evoked in story and song, from the national anthem of Hungary to the novels of Antoine Saint-Exupery and has gained a reputation far exceeding its own distribution.

The Grape Press: Spain- First Impressions
http://grape-press.blogspot.com/2012/02/spain-first-impressions.html
Exploring the world of wine and beyond. Thursday, 16 February 2012. Try and remember when wine became special to you. Where were you. Who was there? Are those people still special to you? Are they still in your life? Can you remember your first experience with wine? Sunrise over the vineyards in la Rioja. El Alhambra, the stunning fortress of Granada. What better way to spend the evening, amongst friends listening to live music in a Granada cafe with a big carafe of whatever the house is serving? For me ...

The Grape Press: August 2015
http://grape-press.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Exploring the world of wine and beyond. Wednesday, 26 August 2015. After a hiatus of over a year, the Grape Press is back in action with a new hopefully refreshing focus. Not that the old focus was a problem, it's just that there was none. Now that I am settled in one of the most exciting places in the world I am setting out on a mission to investigate the wine culture of London. It's eccentricities, it's strangeness and whatever else I may find. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Grape Press: Liberator, Episode 3- the Bandolier
http://grape-press.blogspot.com/2012/08/liberator-episode-3-bandolier.html
Exploring the world of wine and beyond. Sunday, 5 August 2012. Liberator, Episode 3- the Bandolier. It is deep and intense in colour with a hint of purple at the centre, clearly displaying the characteristics of the grapes it is made from. Both are thick skinned and produce dark wines. This is a wine which I like quite a lot and I'm always looking for good value wines in the sweet spot between 8 and 15 pounds per bottle. This is square in the middle of that range and offers excellent value for money&...

Administrator User jgaudel SPAMFILTER. Mardi 12 octobre 2010.

the belfry chronicles: I am not arachnophobic.
http://richardrants.blogspot.com/2006/05/i-am-not-arachnophobic.html
I am not arachnophobic. But I'm more than curious as to where the massive spider I uncovered while cleaning my room is. It was hiding under a pair of shorts next to my bed. And now it's gone. And I am not arachnophobic. But that doesn't mean I want to share a bed with a spider. Anyway. Untidy rooms and sloppy metaphors abound this evening. And a very large spider. I hope it's not in my bed. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. The * * * Chronicles? Call screening and silver lining.

the belfry chronicles: dreams interrupted
http://richardrants.blogspot.com/2014/02/dreams-interrupted.html
I don’t remember the dream, but I’m pretty sure it was a good one. The sense of disappointment when it was shattered by my phone’s alarm was proof of that. I tried to grab at the last few tendrils of memory, but they slipped into permanent shadow. My body knew it wasn’t meant to be awake. I moved slowly. Dessert finished, we found the car and drove to France. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I would quite like to be able to throw myself at the ground and miss, but my aim is too good.

I’ve not written from a train in awhile. I’ve not been on a train in awhile. Oh, I’ve been on the the tube and overground and that sort of thing, but those aren’t really trains. Real trains cross countries and borders, not cities. . I’m off north to Scotland to drink wine and catch up with friends and wonder once again why I don’t here anymore. . I expect this weekend to be every bit as good. Perhaps without the getting chased by bees part, however. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
