The most happening winery in the Roussillon. The secret is that normally a Cotes du Roussillon should have no more than 80% syrah, but this wine has around 95%, with Grenache added to soften the edges and Mourvedre to add a bit of spice. The nose is a powerful combination of chocolate cake, tobacco and dark berries. A concentrated, structured wine with great length. Steak would be my first choice but this robust red goes well with all manner of beef and lamb roasts and casseroles. Enter your comment here.

This wine is called “One Block” because we lived one block away from the World Trade Center when it was destroyed and it was that event which made us change our lives. Now “One Block” means a single block of vines, from which this wine is made. Goes particularly well with SE Asian dishes involving lemongrass and ginger. Can also be spectacular with certain cheeses, such as fresh goats cheese and creamy Brie. Vineyard : Sustainably farmed red clay/limestone.

A song which reflected our emotions following September 11th 2001, when we were living and working in the shadow of the World Trade Center. One of my favourites is Vetou’s Magret de Canard in red wine and chocolate sauce. Rick Stein’s steak recipes from his “French Odyssey” are great. It’s also a lovely wine to sip with cheeses after the meal. Vineyard : Sustainably farmed clay/marl with high stone content. Vines ranging from 15 to 55 years in age. Yield 24 hl/ha. The most happening winery in the Roussillon. 8220;Motus et bouche cousou” means Mum’s The Word in French. That’s because this wine contains more Mourvedre than is strictly permitted under the Cotes du Roussillon rules, but don’t tell anyone! Mourvedre, with low yields at optimum maturity, gives wine an aroma of saddle-leather and tobacco. It is aged in American oak barrels to add some roundness and toasty complexity to the underlying wild berries and hint of mushroom. No acidification or chaptelisation.

The most happening winery in the Roussillon. A sweet wine made from 100% late harvest Muscat petits grains and fortified with pure alcohol. Beautiful aromas of honeysuckle, elderflower and Turkish delight. The palate is sweet but not cloying. Flavours of dried apricots and a touch of honey.
