Minnesota Driftless Fly Fishing: Trip Report: State Park Fishing
http://mndriftlessflyfishing.blogspot.com/2016/10/trip-report-state-park-fishing.html
Minnesota Driftless Fly Fishing. Thursday, October 27, 2016. Trip Report: State Park Fishing. I got out for a few short hours to chase trout around one of Minnesota's three state parks which allow trout fishing while the season is closed for all other small streams in the Minnesota driftless. With cloudy skies and a good stain on the water fishing was pretty easy. I tied on a black egg sucking leech and watched lots of trout chase, swing, and occasionally connect. Then I caught that damn walleye. It's our state fish. It's the state fish because we like to eat it, fried- which is why Minnesotans are a bit broad in the beam. I love the big, fly-caught smallmouth. Tuesday, August 21, 2007. Yet, Another Hog Smallmouth. Tuesday, August 14, 2007. Friday, August 10, 2007. One day a pair o...

Fish Eat Flies: January 2015
http://fisheatflies.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
January 29, 2015. Sam and I hit Bologna Creek last week for a little winter fun. I had just went by myself a few days prior and did fairly well on various flies. We actually started at a nearby stream throwing articulated globs of feather and fur in hopes of catching "the big one". But it was low water and even lower catching. We didn't do any better once on Bologna Creek, in fact worse because neither of us found fish lips to date our flies. It takes Oakley a few minutes to shake off his excitement of b...

Fish Eat Flies: July 2014
http://fisheatflies.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
July 5, 2014. Fishing at Fiending Void. Adjunct to our float-trip, we fished a couple other spots to fill in the space before and after the epic day of Cicada madness. I've known about this canyon stream for years but failed to make a trip there a reality until now. I had a chance to fish it last year during the fishing trip. And dubbing. But it worked well as a dropper below the Stoned-hopper and found the most love that evening. We passed another angler that was very friendly and informative about the ...
