Mrs. Driftwood: March 2009
http://mrsdriftwood.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
A few little stories from the world of occasional teaching. Kids are so amazing. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Everywhere I look, kids continue to amaze me. I read this book called "Amazing Grace" written by Jonathan Kozol about kids living in a place called Mott Haven, a ghetto in New York City. It is a sobering, depressing read, but necessarily so. This is what a 12 year old (grade 6 or 7) wrote in response to the question, what is heaven like? God will be there. He'll be happy that we arrived. He is just...

truth be told: A Milestone

Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you." Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJ). Thursday, June 28, 2007. Today my wonderful, smart, studly. Madly-skilled brother GRADUATED from high school! I am so proud of him. I got time off of work so Kristi, Shane and I booted it down to Steinbach. To participate in the festivities - it was great! Shane did an awesome job of out-shouting everyone in the city of Steinbach. Who was there to support their friends, kids, siblings, etc.

Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you." Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJ). Thursday, March 29, 2007. Our trip to Kansas City was a blast! It was fun going with my friends and fellow SHOP'ers, Kristi and Christina and Jacquie. We met with a couple of the worship leaders while we were down there. I left so encouraged by all that they had to say, new ways of looking at what we do, wisdom on a few things that need tweaking, etc. etc. Come Lord Jesus Come! At work to...

Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you." Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJ). Thursday, December 27, 2007. Just For Shane : ). My brother-in-law has been asking me to post something for a while.so, Shane, this is for you! The revelation that Jesus Christ gave up His glory from eternity past to become a baby, humble and dependent, in order to grow up and become a man despised and rejected, all for my redemption astounds me! The siblings and I. I'm LOVIN that shirt.

Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you." Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJ). Thursday, June 30, 2005. Risking the wilderness - what does that mean? The wilderness - I never thought I was much of an extreme outdoorsie-type person but I actually really liked it! I am constantly awed by the beauty of God, the beauty He creates! I love my friends like crazy! Thank you Jesus for them! It's a good but difficult struggle that I can only bring to God Himself. People h...
