Prints and other works by Maren Munoz: November 2012
http://marenmunoz.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Prints and other works by Maren Munoz. Wednesday, November 28, 2012. The past month in pictures. Just going to post a bunch of pictures that i've been taking over the past month or so but haven't had time to sit down and post. There are a few human interest pictures sprinkled in. May need to throw captions on a few of them just to clarify. Just looked at my last post. it has been awhile! Why buy expensive printmaking paper when graph paper looks so cool? Pretty ink sunset shmear. My first real etching!
Prints and other works by Maren Munoz: Trying to wipe the slate clean
http://marenmunoz.blogspot.com/2013/10/trying-to-wipe-slate-clean.html
Prints and other works by Maren Munoz. Monday, October 14, 2013. Trying to wipe the slate clean. Have been using the past few days to try and tie up the loose ends on a dozen different things. Clear my plate so I can work on some new things. Waxed with some brown beeswax. Gives it a different look, texture. Start of a new print. I saw this at the grocery store and loved it. It's so dopey and that's what I love about it. And how awesome that it uses candy! Candy is so fun to look at. Doin it old school.
Prints and other works by Maren Munoz: February 2012
http://marenmunoz.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Prints and other works by Maren Munoz. Monday, February 27, 2012. Got some new stuff cookin' in the studio. I don't have too much time to write about any of this but here are a few new images. I have a show here in Wisconsin in May so I'm just trying to crank stuff out. These are all cut and painted MDF blocks. I like this egg bat but I think it's going to end up getting edited out. It kind of doesn't fit. Work in progress. Looks kind of scary but only because I have the eyes taped off.

Prints and other works by Maren Munoz: Ledger Drawings
http://marenmunoz.blogspot.com/2013/10/ledger-drawings.html
Prints and other works by Maren Munoz. Tuesday, October 1, 2013. I'm working on a piece for a project I was invited to participate in called Re-Riding History. The project centers around re-examining the capture and imprisonment of 72 Native Americans at Fort Marion in St. Augustine, Florida from 1875-1878. 72 artists will each create a piece based on some aspect of this event. The project was conceptualized and curated by John Hitchcock, Emily Arthur, and Marwin Begaye. Artists that interest me.
Prints and other works by Maren Munoz: December 2012
http://marenmunoz.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Prints and other works by Maren Munoz. Tuesday, December 25, 2012. Big snow in Madison. I took etching this semester and it was completely uncharted territory. i think it made it more fun though. it was no pressure, so i was just able to have fun with it. Here i'm gradually painting the stop out fluid onto the aquatinted plate. Kind of hard to see but this is the final etched plate ready for printing. it will essentially look just like this as a print. LOVE this process. Saturday, December 8, 2012. Http:...

Wolfbat Response
Saturday, April 23, 2011. Wow The Genius . High Tim. Very minimal research would let you know that our friends Cannonball Press started in 1999, which makes it very difficult to have gained momentum from the 90’s “poster art Movement” (which I think actually started in 1891 with Toulouse-Lautrec maybe? I can’t recall them ever mentioning influence from any of these artists or poets mentioned during the nearly 10 years I’ve none them. They must have been 8 years old then and Satanic? Posterity you ask....
