Freedom Dragon Energy: April 2012
http://freedomdragonenergy.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
The scribbles of a former English Teacher. Thursday, April 19, 2012. Confucius and the impotent rapist Kim Jong Eun. Last week North Korea attempted to launch a rocket into space. The rocket possibly had too much rye whiskey, because it could not get up. The boys at NASA probably felt like they were at Thanksgiving dinner watching the new Jack Russell puppy trying to jump up on the table. Why did they launch the rocket? Links to this post. Freedom Dragon Energy: August 2012
http://freedomdragonenergy.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
The scribbles of a former English Teacher. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. One of the drawbacks of teaching is talking to children. They will walk into your classroom and ask you questions you don't want to respond to. You will retort with questions that they do not answer. This process repeats itself until Friday at 4:30 or you go on vacation. On Tuesday August 28th 2012, it became clear that ours is a just God for the ESL teachers of Korea. Well most of them. I was ordered to stay home. Links to this post.

Freedom Dragon Energy: You Can Take a Rest and Why Are You So Sad
http://freedomdragonenergy.blogspot.com/2012/10/you-can-take-rest-and-why-are-you-so-sad.html
The scribbles of a former English Teacher. Thursday, October 18, 2012. You Can Take a Rest and Why Are You So Sad. The greatest words that I hear at my job are "you can take a rest." The expression is endemic to Korea. It is a curious phrase that reflects the pace of Korea. A rest is something you take, not just a pause between activities. Previous to my consignment to this place, I had never heard it spoken. I had never taken a rest previously in my life. OR were you too lazy to do math or science?

Freedom Dragon Energy: June 2012

The scribbles of a former English Teacher. Wednesday, June 27, 2012. An Open door, a seat at the table" by D.J.F. Siksay. This was not written by the Freedom Dragon, Daniel J. F. Siksay is the writer:. We often hear (in a fairly glossed-over way) about the contrast between Korea's "collectivist" culture and Canada's "individualist" culture, but it's rarely clear exactly what ways this tension actually manifests itself in either society. However, in the way each culture understands. For traditions to anno...

Freedom Dragon Energy: September 2012
http://freedomdragonenergy.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
The scribbles of a former English Teacher. Friday, September 7, 2012. Sad Clowns and Bike Thieves. I don't use my bicycle as much as I should. However, I like having it. It reminds me that when things get to be too much I can just hop on and ride away. Someone has taken to stealing my bike. It has twice been stolen and twice been recovered. I now know that it is one of my high school students. Yes, but the students are very smart. Is suicide the number one cause of death for teens in Korea? Far above my ...

Every culture has eccentricities unto itself. Korea is by no means exempt. There are a few bizarre practices and traditions of note to newcomers to Korean society. Was it the pipe?
