At lunch the other day my colleagues were extolling the virtues of teeth whitening and IPL (which isn’t invisible pantyline but some horrendous sounding permanent hair removal wizardry – who knew? I sat there, mute, torn between thinking ‘what a load of old bunkum’ and conversely ‘I just couldn’t spend that on myself! So my current expenditure on beauty…. I spend £15 a month on waxing, which doesn’t take place in a swanky salon but in someone’s kitchen. Which is part of the fun.

I came across this place about a year ago when I was researching an Easter trip to London with my husband (total transport nightmare, me with a hideous hangover, the briefest of trips to the Natural History Museum; swiftly followed with the nullifying properties of beer and curry in Brick Lane). Sunday, 24 October 2010. The dog ate my homework.and I er, left it on a bus. Ok, I hold my hands up I have been crap of late with this here blog. Reasons, excuses; call it what you will but since I last blogged the following things have prevented me updating this:. 1) that great new job I was bragging about went t*ts up after 8 days so I had to find a new one. 2) I found a better job instead but it took me 6 weeks. 3) Aforementioned better job took me to Deutschland for my first week. 4) I moved house!
