Tales from The Woolshed. Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Ronald A. Katz must die. This is Ronald A. Katz:. And I think he should be executed for crimes against humanity. I can hear you think: Why would Lennard, who is so against violence, want this friendly looking old gentleman dead? Well I’ll explain this, and 2 sentences from now, you will agree with me. You think you won’t? Okay, let me tell you this, then: Ronald A. Katz is the inventor of the automated call centre. A typical phone sales person at work.

Tales from The Woolshed: December 2013
http://www.mytalesfromthewoolshed.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tales from The Woolshed. Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Come to think of it, how did I end up on the empty streets of Philadelphia at this time of day anyway? Rewind about 7 months to my living room in Dublin, where I was sitting on the couch, poring over a map of the world and a note pad, trying to make an important decision. And pick a bar there, possibly the legendary Cardrona Hotel on the South Island. In the end, I discarded the idea for roughly the same reasons as Australia. After consulting Hostelwo...

Tales from The Woolshed: August 2013

Tales from The Woolshed. Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Saturday, I decided, was going to be beach day. I decided I was going to have a bite to eat on my way to the beach, and settled on a place called Cortija de Pepe. I walked in and was delighted. This was what I expected a Spanish tapas bar to look like. The narrow place was filled with a long bar lined with stools on one side and glass display cases filled with food on the other side. Here’s a picture of it:. That, I can keep up all day. I looked out ov...

Tales from The Woolshed: The 108 and 300.
http://www.mytalesfromthewoolshed.com/2015/07/the-108-and-300.html
Tales from The Woolshed. Tuesday, July 7, 2015. The 108 and 300. Galway Bay Brewery pub in Dublin, I had in fact not even gotten around yet to visiting number 6, a place in the suburbs called The 108. As I had some time off work, I decided that a visit was long overdure and picked an afternoon for the next week to make my way down to The 108. Street and across the canal at Charlemont Mall. Seriously, try this beer. It's amazing. I again resisted stopping for a beer at the Blackbird, a legendary bar that ...

Tales from The Woolshed. Tuesday, November 25, 2014. McCarthy's Casbah - Part IV. I got off the bus at Tangier’s central bus station and within 3 seconds had a grubby looking Moroccan man walking alongside me and asking me questions. Where was I going? Where was I from? Did I want to see his cousin’s shop? What hotel was I staying in? Would I like to buy a rug? I told him I wasn’t interested and expected him to leave. Where is your hotel? My friend take you there! 8220;You are going to Melting Pot hostel?

Tales from The Woolshed: May 2013

Tales from The Woolshed. Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Goodbye, Huge square. A couple of hours maybe? Or was it the next morning? A Map of Grodna, as available in the West. As I said about 2 lines ago, it was a nice little city but I could not see why it would have been listed in that book, while places like, say, Stirling or Oakland or Malaga were not. The main attraction of the town are those Disney-castle churches and to be honest, I had pretty much seen enough churches by now. This one was pretty cool though.

Tales from The Woolshed: June 2013
http://www.mytalesfromthewoolshed.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Tales from The Woolshed. Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Today's topic is football. Gaelic Football is a game where 2 teams consisting of 15 players each try to score by kicking or punching. A round ball that looks closely like a volleyball through the goal posts, and by kicking the shit out of each other. The game is most often described as a cross between football and rugby and the goal is also a cross between a football goal and a rugby goal. As you can see here. A game consists of two 35 minute halves.

Tales from The Woolshed. Friday, April 24, 2015. A Home in Hell. As most of you know, I live in Ireland and I absolutely love it. I would say that most people live in a place they like because, well, if they didn’t they would probably pack up and leave. That’s how it should be. If you don’t like the place where you live, your life will be miserable. Imagine that you were born in a place that is horrible. Unspeakably horrible. I bet you came up with things like constant freezing temperatures. Some neatly ...

Tales from The Woolshed: The Good Friday Disagreement.
http://www.mytalesfromthewoolshed.com/2015/05/the-good-friday-disagreement.html
Tales from The Woolshed. Thursday, May 7, 2015. The Good Friday Disagreement. When you are reminded that part of Ireland still operates in the past. Divorce was illegal until 1995. Abortion still is. Gay couples can’t get married, though this will most likely be repealed by referendum on 22 May. The Gate Clock being the only decent one. Party with the dogs! And then ofcourse, there is the one pub that opens at 23.55 on Friday and starts selling booze again at 00.01. Sure, nothing can go wrong when you st...

Tales from The Woolshed: October 2014
http://www.mytalesfromthewoolshed.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tales from The Woolshed. Tuesday, October 28, 2014. McCarthy's Casbah - Part II. I didn’t know what it was at first, but I started to notice things from the corners of my eyes that just sent bad signals. When the bar girl walked off to the kitchen, I had a proper look around and when I saw a calendar that had a blue football with a red lion on it, I knew that it was what I had feared: I had walked into a Rangers bar. Since the late 19. 8217; It didn’t seem to bother the plants though, as they clear...
