Worcestershire Wildlife Trust Volunteers

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust Volunteers. Monday, 6 October 2014. Encouraging Otters at Hill Court Farm. Holt building (c) Sara Burton. As always, the volunteer work party has been hard at work and we have carried out a variety of tasks including wildflower seed collecting / spreading across the meadows, willow weaving to camouflage a bird viewing point and, perhaps my favourite task yet, building an otter holt! Sara, Hill Court Farm. A Year at Broadway Gravel Pit. Emperor dragonfly (c) Mike Averill.

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust Volunteers: Management of the Malvern Hills

http://worcestershirewildlifetrust.blogspot.com/2014/05/management-of-malvern-hills.html

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust Volunteers. Monday, 12 May 2014. Management of the Malvern Hills. A talk by Jonathan Bills, Conservation Officer of Malvern Hills Conservators. We are extraordinarily fortunate to live in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Whether we use the hills for walking, cycling, horse-riding, hang-gliding, grazing livestock, or just for admiring from our living room windows, we have a duty to look after the Malvern Hills for ourselves and for future generations. Worcestershire Wildlife Trust Volunteers. Tuesday, 22 October 2013. Creating ponds at Hill Court Farm. When our family moved out of town and into the countryside 10 years ago I didn't fully appreciate how much I would love living close to Worcestershire Wildlife Trust's Hill Court Farm and The. Reserve. It has enhanced my enjoyment of countryside living immensely to be able to watch the wildlife attracted to the Reserve and observe some of it spilling over into. Fields and even our own garden. Now eighte...

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust Volunteers: February 2014

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust Volunteers. Friday, 21 February 2014. Winter at Hill Court Farm. The Hill Court Farm reserve is a wetland reserve, but even here I don't think we've ever seen it quite as wet! This was the view last week, showing just how flooded some of the fields have become -. As for our intrepid volunteers, we have spent the winter clearing, coppicing and laying a long length of hedgerow which, as we've slashed, chopped and sawn away, has seemed an almost destructive task at times. If yo...

Rare bird appears at Feckenham nature reserve. Visitors to a local nature reserve were treated to a rare spectacle last week (22 to 28 February 2010). A Slavonian grebe spent two days at Worcestershire Wildlife Trusts Feckenham Wylde Moor reserve, four and a half miles south of Redditch. The bird, one of approximately 800 in the UK, is normally found on the coast at this time of year. The grebe was spotted on Wednesday morning by reserve warden Paul Meers. By Saturday morning, however, it had flown off.

Wildlife Diary from Naunton Beauchamp

Wildlife Diary from Naunton Beauchamp. Friday, 25 March 2016. Flooding around Naunton Beauchamp 9th March 2016. Flooding has been relatively minor this year. Piddle Brook had some flooding on 9th March which extended onto the road at the entrance to the village but fortunately no properties were affected. We look forward to seeing further details of the proposal including levels. We think it will pose some interesting questions of the applicant. Entrance to Naunton Beauchamp.
