Andrea's Random Lil' Blog: November 2010
http://andrea.irlbrl.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 15, 2010. Grafton Street and Brown Thomas decorations. Yesterday we also took some pictures of the streets. Again, in Brown Thomas. They had artificial snow being released outside. It look really pretty, although I don't even think they will be needing that machine for much longer. Temperatures here had a real drop last night, and I am sure the White Winter will be arriving soon. Before and after Sunset. In the Brown Thomas Hermès. But they look very pretty anyway. Now, the Christmas dec...

Sunday, November 14, 2010. Brown Thomas Christmas Decorations! We left Bella home today to take some pictures of the Brown Thomas. Windows. This year the theme is Celtic Mythology. A super-modern take on Celtic Mythology, I should add. I thought it was just brilliant and, for the 1st time in my life, I wish I were a windows designer! The pictures above show a "generic" view, from a certain distance and before Sunset. Below, some more detailed shots. Im so glad you shared this, Andrea! I was born in Rio d...

Andrea's Random Lil' Blog: April 2009

Thursday, April 30, 2009. This latest necklace is all about colour experimentation. This week I (re)started to study a bit of Japanese through colours. I mean, Japanese names of traditional colours: colours of nature, different flower shades, leaves, stones, and colours for most aspects of life. You may visit the NHK blog. As a flower, the wisteria (fuji) looks like a flowy cascade of purple petals (look at it here. Several Chinese cloisonnée oval beads in rosy lilac, light purple with silver threads;.

Thursday, May 28, 2009. I made this necklace this week, by Sunday or Monday. I called it "Tsukimi", which, in Japanese, means "viewing the Moon". It uses bluish-gray colours and seems a bit different from my previous work, since I use no focal beads or pendants. Still symmetrical though, but a continuous line of several Swarovski elements, gemstones and glass beads (that I brought from Prague). For this piece I have used:. Tibetan silver hook clasp;. Several kyanite round gemstones;. I love the AB effect...

Saturday, January 31, 2009. La Notte 2 (new necklace). Last night I decided to make a new version of my previous La Notte. As I do with all new versions, this one is called La Notte. 2 It is not exactly the same, of course, but also departs from the same idea and uses more or less the sane colours. However, where the original displayed golds and dark blue, this instead is all about silver shades. Here's the new La Notte. For this piece, I have used:. Blown) Luna focal bead;. Lazuli medium beads;. On the ...

Friday, May 21, 2010. Bella with her new scrunchie! These are supposed to go on her neck, but we tried to make her look like a little Tudor lady here! Sunday, May 16, 2010. St Francis of Assisi. OK I am not a Catholic, or have any religions (at the moment at least - it may change again one day though! Now that I have a dog, I've been thinking a lot about St. Francis of Assisi. He loved animals, and treated them as brothers and sisters. And protected them. Then I reminded his Prayer. Where there is sorrow...

Andrea's Random Lil' Blog: September 2011

Wednesday, September 07, 2011. I created this necklace as a result of two needs: first, to give my Mother a black and white/monochrome piece; second, to create a necklace which was inspired by Bella, our black and white Wicklow Collie. Below, some details of the Czech glass beads that are so "Bella". The Japanese millefiori are adorable, small and cute. I have them in several colours. Again, click on the picture to magnify and appreciate the details. That was it. Simple as that. The Natsu 夏 necklace.

Andrea's Random Lil' Blog: July 2009
http://andrea.irlbrl.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 09, 2009. We moved last Wednesday. It was very, very stressful. I don't want to go into details, really. The moving company was OK, but not as brilliant as they claim to be, and once the insides (of the old apartment that is! Arrived, it was not like everything turned out to be completely right. Well, most of it was great actually! Minor issues of course, but these can be fixed. If not now, over time. Kitchen is great, garden is lovely and, overall, the place is bigger than it looks! This ...
