I thought I’d take a break from the Hecock novel and do a little work on “I Had/Have a Pony”. (I still have not decided on the title… if it should be past or present tense. I’m leaning towards past because the “I” in the title refers to Isaiah, not as a first person statement.). Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). November 3, 2011. I just found...

Friday, July 31, 2015. Wet Paint.or How I learned to LUV watching paint dry. Approx 8 x 10 inches. Various watercolour brands, bit of acrylic paint, and some salt. On approx 140 lb watercolour paper, unknown brand. Done from my drawing. Both this blog post and watercolour sketch comes from an experimental watercolor piece that came to be Wet Paint. It started out from an old phrase.” That (whatever is being disparaged) is just about as exciting as watching paint dry”. So I went with the random colours...

Monday, June 29, 2015. 12 x 18 inches. This post is a continuing of my (warm weather) interest in painting all things snow. Frank got me some lovely snow shots this winter and the last, and I've been pushing back against 90 degree temps and humidity, by painting all sorts of snow scenes that I just couldn't even contemplate while the temperatures were 0. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Colored Pencil Brown Thrasher in an Acrylic Painting or Mixing My Media, Again. I drew in the individual feathers on the upper body of the bird, along with detailing the staring “stink eye” he's giving the ladybugs. (“Stink eye” is appropriate as ladybugs stink to high heaven when squashed.something the thrasher seems to know! At the same time you can see that the glazing of the backlit dogwood leaves is progressing. Monday, September 22, 2014. Drunk on Color; Part Deux.

Monday, April 13, 2015. Or One way to to quickly decide on colors in your artwork. Petite Rouge; A Cajun Twist to an Old Tale. By Sheila Heber-Collins and illustrated by Alison Davis Lyne. While in the middle of my most recent children's picture book project, Petite Rouge; A. Cajun Twist to an Old Tale (2015). I was faced with a bit of a quandary. But I still had to decide on a color for Petite Rouge's clothes. She would be wearing the same outfit through out almost the entire book. That's a definite YES!
