A tale of angels, creative endeavour and thrift. Sunday, 5 February 2012. Well Happy Bloggers,. At last we have our broadband sorted and can resume blogging. And what else is there to do on this cold, snowy Sunday? Well plenty, but my preferred choice is stay in the warm. This is my street, early this afternoon. Some brave souls have ventured out, and I have even had junk mail delivered today. But onto more interesting things. Room And here are some of my samples. Our second piece involved wrapping a fra...

Raggedy Angels: January 2012
http://raggedyangels.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
A tale of angels, creative endeavour and thrift. Thursday, 12 January 2012. Happy New Year to you all. I was hoping to publish a post with interest by now. Unfortunately, the broadband is down at home, so I am having to do this from the library. Which is a good thing in some ways, but having to travel 3 miles and the time restriction just adds to the general stress of daily life. I'm also having problems uploading images, so its not going at all smoothly at the moment. Links to this post. Improvised R...

A house addict in the Highlands. Nearly ready for heat. January 5, 2017. I spent it getting plastered…. Top tip: old bank cards make great miniature floats for skim when you’re filling in plasterboard screw heads! Plasterboard and insulation going up in the hall. The kitchen windowseat has been done as well – just need some edge protector to finish that off. David very kindly gave us some time between Christmas and new year as well, and has made good progress with the panelling upstairs. October 30, 2016.

A house addict in the Highlands. December 21, 2016. Last-minute emergency pre-Christmas shopping is supposed to be things like stuffing balls, sprouts and bacon, isn’t it? Not what I bought today which included:. A multifuel stove (plus fitting kit and flexible flue liner). Paint for priming the plasterboard and panelling and some of the colours (we need to have another look at the small bedroom, the living room and the kitchen after the sample pots didn’t quite turn out like the catalogue colours).

A house addict in the Highlands. Tag Archives: renovation projects. What I’d like under the tree tomorrow. December 24, 2016. Earlier this week I was in Thurso for the day while my car was being serviced and MOT’d (or, more accurately, not being serviced and MOT’d, because the power steering went on the way in and we decided that was a bigger issue! Would be more than acceptable 🙂. And electrics would be another 8,000 or so. Well, well, well…. Things you don’t expect to hear from your electrician. The H...

A house addict in the Highlands. Well, well, well…. March 15, 2017. Not one, not two, but three pieces of good news to report. Sitting room heating layed and covered for walking on. One of the individual room thermostats. These can all be set to different temperatures and are programmable. I could hear the water running and soon found what looked like a shallow muddy puddle in the right place. I kicked a bit of the silt out with my boot and it filled itself up again – bingo. March 12, 2017. Once Mick was...
