Michelle In Turkey: A Southern Girl's Guide to Central Asia: A Visit to the Village
http://michelleinturkey.blogspot.com/2009/12/visit-to-village.html
Wednesday, December 9, 2009. A Visit to the Village. It's customary for the bride and groom to visit the family's home village after the wedding. It's sorta like saying "thank you" for coming to the wedding. A few weeks ago Umut and I went to his family's small village in the mountains, outside of Denizli (modern Colossea). Even though I am from Tennessee, this was the 1st time I used a real outhouse! So here is what you are looking at:. She has a stove but isn't interested in using it. I guess old h...

http://stuandnicole.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Fall is slowly approaching.even though the calendar may say that it has been fall for about a week, we are starting to see and feel it. Once the temperature drops to at least 75ish I will really start to enjoy the holiday coffee drinks, the fall scented candles that have popped up everywhere and the pumpkins at the store. I love the fall! I hope to get a pumpkin for our back door and I love to mini pumpkins for the kitchen. The best part of cooler weather.sweaters! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

THE SMITHS: some funny pup pics
http://stuandnicole.blogspot.com/2009/12/some-funny-pup-pics.html
Some funny pup pics. Daisy is a sleepy little lady. It's always fun to dress them up and watch them.they don't like it very much. Mister HATES when Daisy is getting any sort of love, or attention. He always goes for the ears or he pulls her extra neck fat. And from way back when Mister was still a sweet little puppy, he has shown his true colors! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). THE SMITHS: April 2009

2009: The year of the taco. So, Nicole and I have a problem. It's quite terrible (yet delightful) and we feel like we must confess. After living in Austin for 3 years now, our diet consists of mainly Tacos. In Fact.If our weekly life is a sentence, all the words would be tacos and the punctuation would simply be P. Terry's. In fact, this sentence would read something like this: Taco P Terrys taco taco taco pterrys. Of Austin Tacos (feel free to judge or comment). 1 Cowboy Taco - Taco Deli. Not technicall...

Saturday, April 25, 2009. Turkish Weddings = BIG and *Bling*. Umut and I will get married in Texas in January. Since his family won't make it to the US for the wedding, in late September we will have a Turkish "wedding". I get to be a bride twice! And just to clarify, to the same man.). On Thursday we went to Madam Burcu, best described as the "David's Bridal of Turkey". Momma Ceylan has her heart set on this store because they will lend you their infamous white stretch limousine for your Big Day. PS: As...

three trad house: The days are evil.
http://heismyportion.blogspot.com/2009/06/days-are-evil.html
Sunday, June 28, 2009. The days are evil. I've felt really lazy lately which is ironic because I'm having the busiest summer. And it's not all work either, there is a little time for play, yet I still feel like I'm not using my time wisely and God has been burdening my heart to pray over my time that I would use it more wisely for His kingdom. Sooo much free time.but still when I'm in the midst of it I feel like I have no time at all. My laziness is the root of the feeling that I have no time.

working hard, trying to be nice: November 2009
http://rebeccainphilly.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Working hard, trying to be nice. Back home and traversing the world of urban education. again. This time, hoping to see huge things happen in a very different school. Tuesday, November 17, 2009. A parent told me that I looked like Sandra Bullock and that she appreciated how I was always smiling. It was nice to know that the parents of my kids can tell how much I care about their children. Ugh, cause I do, even when I hate them. Sunday, November 15, 2009. The earrings in a happier time: LA with Whitney.
