My Side of the Pulpit: October 2009
http://mysideofthepulpit.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
My Side of the Pulpit. Saturday, October 24, 2009. 4:15 I hear the door slam open and my daughter yelling 'It's dad! I run to the kitchen, down the stairs and through the open doorway. My view is blocked by the van, and then my eyes meet his over its roof.and as I round the hood of the van, he is standing there, arms around the girls, his first hug-of-return an exact replica of the last. Except for their faces! Thursday, October 22, 2009. This is the 47th day I have woken up alone. And then a staff meeti...

My Side of the Pulpit: August 2009
http://mysideofthepulpit.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
My Side of the Pulpit. Tuesday, August 11, 2009. When you dance with the Spirit, you don't get to lead. Wednesday, August 5, 2009. To take another breath. The in-the-moment realities of a family on a road-trip vacation helped to push away thoughts of the changes coming upon us- even when a chunk of that vacation was put to use in finding my husband a place to live and sorting out his courses for the up-coming year. The way I was, the way I am. Happy birthday, Norma! Life size →. I was hurrying back to my jury duty session when I saw these, sitting on a ledge along the river Seine. No idea what they were doing there and didn’t have much time to check them out or browse. They did look pretty old. Across the river Seine is Conciergerie. Which is now part of Palais de Justice. 20 thoughts on “ Abandoned or forgotten. May 22, 2009 at 10:58 am. May 22, 2009 at 1:52 pm. May 22, 2009 at 6:39 pm. May 22, 2009 at 7:31 pm.

Beyond the wild sabbatical. These are ongoing reflections that began with my wild sabbatical in South Africa, February and March 2012. Thanks and Thoughts →. God never finishes. God only continues. The Providence of God is that God keeps, continues, remains, moves ahead, grows, fills. God is always working in our lives, our community of faith, and our hearts. God does not force God’s self on us, though. Of all powers, love is the most powerful and the most powerless. It is the most powerful because i...

My Side of the Pulpit: April 2010
http://mysideofthepulpit.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
My Side of the Pulpit. Tuesday, April 20, 2010. I am planning the worship service for May 16. The reading from Acts is the story of Paul and Silas, beaten and thrown into prison, praying and singing hymns of praise. What walls have I built around myself through ignorance, neglect or stubbornness? What wilful blindness keeps me contained in the inner prison? Lovelace knew that 'stone walls do not a prison make'; Viktor Frankl uncovered that truth again in the concentration camp. How shall I live this out?

My Side of the Pulpit: And the year is done....
http://mysideofthepulpit.blogspot.com/2010/06/and-year-is-done.html
My Side of the Pulpit. Thursday, June 10, 2010. And the year is done. At 6:05 pm, June 9, 2010, 'my' discernment committee 'signed off' , with the recommendation that I apply to become a Candidate for Ordination in the United Church of Canada. The discernment process that began on June 10, 2009 has led through quite a year.I am a little taller today, and a whole lot lighter. And so, to the next stage. And so it begins.or continues. July 7, 2010 at 1:39 PM. July 25, 2010 at 3:43 PM. It’s been awhile.

My Side of the Pulpit: And it's from the old we travel to the new....
http://mysideofthepulpit.blogspot.com/2010/10/and-its-from-old-we-travel-to-new.html
My Side of the Pulpit. Tuesday, October 19, 2010. And it's from the old we travel to the new. Finally- CAN 202, CAN 203- the forms have been completed and are on their way. I've considered myself to be on a writing hiatus for the past three months, but as I look back I realize that it wasn't really the case. I did do three church services- two of which were back-to-back in September. But I do continue. And happily so, looking forward to an interview date in December. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

My Side of the Pulpit: March 2009
http://mysideofthepulpit.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
My Side of the Pulpit. Monday, March 30, 2009. I have attained the age of 50. At 10 I had friends and no doubts, loved horses, and the best thing in the world to do was curl up in that comfy turquoise chair, eating oranges while I read myths and legends and fairy tales. At 40 I had a loving husband, two precious daughters and no doubts, a solid career, and the best thing in the world was to speak my mind. And now I am fifty. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
