Writing From Merida | Writing and Intercultural Living…
MEXICAN CUSTOMS and CULTURE. August 12, 2015. Letter writing back and forth with my mother, other family and friends in Canada was my only contact with the life I’d previously known. Jorge and I did not even own a phone until 1980, but every year on my birthday, my family would call me at the house of my parents-in-law. A 12 minute call cost $100.00 a princely sum back then. Make all waste whoosh quickly away, and entertainment, in any language lies literally in the palm of the hand. In the late 1980s wh...

Writing from my head. I hope you like my place, it is intimidating and excited to be writing in public, so please be nice to me; Hahahhahaha! And of course have fun and enjoy your visit. When will...

Writing from Palestine
Reports from an American activist in the West Bank. Working in solidarity with Palestinians against the occupation. Thursday, November 30, 2006. I've arrived home by now. I'm not sure what to say to sum up this trip as a whole - maybe the words will come later when my head has cleared. I've had a very powerful, altering and rich experience and hope that I remember every detail always. This is God's land! Looking forward to is an olive harvest where internationals are not needed at all. Links to this post.
