Writing Warp & Weft

Writing Warp and Weft. Researching Modern and Contemporary Tapestry. Wednesday, 19 February 2014. This is likely to be my last blog post here. I originally began blogging to get over the fear of writing on returning to academic life. It gradually grew to become a means of sharing my thoughts and interacting with tapestry enthusiasts around the world. I am currently working on thesis corrections after my viva in November - having a viva four days before your wedding is not something I would recommend!

Writing Warp & Weft: 'an apt and symbolic mural'

http://writingwarpandweft.blogspot.com/2013/07/an-apt-and-symbolic-mural.html

Writing Warp and Weft. Researching Modern and Contemporary Tapestry. Tuesday, 16 July 2013. An apt and symbolic mural'. Chapter 6 of my thesis is concerned with the increasing number of large-scale, architectural tapestries at Dovecot in the 1960s. I may have written 12,000 words on the subject, but an old issue of Punch magazine sums it up in one image:. I'm afraid I don't know what year this is from - my proof reader sent it to me after reading chapter 6! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Welcome to WRITINGWARD.COM. Someone once said to me, "If I had to sit down, and write a story, I would think it was such a chore.". I remember hearing that, and thinking, "Wow! Not everyone wants to do this.". It was a revelation, because it's all I've ever wanted to do - well, that, and play third base for the Yankees. They never called. This is what the books look like, and, in the following pages, there is a brief description of each one.

Follow Your Instincts No Matter What…. Case in point, an issue with a friend I had last year. I’ll name this friend Beth for purposes of this blog. She was funny, outgoing, personable and liked to have fun. We were friends for 2 years, but now I use the word “friend” pretty loosely. We were really acquaintances that turned into friends who saw each other weekly. You know the saying you are the 5 people you hang out with? She finally answers me with a long email that contains everything but the kitchen si...

The wastebasket is a writer's best friend. Isaac Bashevis Singer. Monday, December 15, 2008. Joyce’s ears buzzed. Confusion and conversation enveloped her from all corners of the room. “We broke up last night”… “I’ve had him for two classes and he’s pretty easy”… “Wanna see what’s upstairs?
