Writing with Quiet Hands

Writing with Quiet Hands. Monday, January 2, 2017. A Writer's Tools: The Cork Board. I love index cards. They're the key to my plotting, the tools I use to conceive, arrange, and rearrange scenes. I describe how I do this in my writing workshops and in my writing books, most notably WRITING WITH QUIET HANDS. So if you’re short on space and long on plot, try creating a corkboard of your own. You won’t regret it. And be sure to send me a photohappy plotting! Posted by Paula Munier @ 8:55 AM. My New Year’s ...

Writing with Quiet Hands: July 2015

http://writingwithquiethands.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Writing with Quiet Hands. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Top Ten Reasons Your Story Isn't Selling. There’s nothing unique enough about your premise, plot, or protagonist to set your story apart from what's already out there. The prose is dense and inaccessible. Your story is not grounded in setting. The protagonist is not likable or admirable and readers can’t relate to him/her. You don’t show, you tell. http://writingwithquiethands.blogspot.com/2016/06/yes-virginia-beginning-does-matter.html

The First Page Sells the Book.

And I love the Boston Red Sox. But the trouble with summer is that there is a lot to distract me from my writing: paddle boarding on the lake, reading on the beach, gin and tonics everywhere. There’s no crying in publishing. A League of Their Own. When you come to a fork in the road, take it. Yogi Berra said it all first and funnier&#...

That's my 2 ¢ents. I have a confession to make. I killed two people. To explain what happened I have to go back to the beginning of summer. I was outside mowing the grass.
