Woensdag 10 december 2014. I thought you might like to know I've opened a webshop. In my shop I offer high quality prints for sale, such as this set of prints of tropical sea life:. Here's a picture of the work in progress for these prints. Just to give you an idea what kind of materials I use making these images. It's not all digital work, you know! I also use a lot of documentation, which this picture clearly shows. But why don't have a peek at my shop. Geplaatst door Pieter M. Dorrenboom.

Maandag 6 december 2010. Yesterday was the 5th of December. That's the day that the Dutch people celebrate Sinterklaas. But that's a rather old fashioned name). In the evening families and friends gather around to treat themselves to hot cocoa and Dutch dainties such as speculaas. Meanwhile they wait in great expectation for a visit of Sinterklaas. To bring them presents. An alternative way to spend the evening is to give each other surprises. There's Dutch humour for you! During their visit in the Nethe...

Donderdag 18 november 2010. I don't do as much work for Batmobile as I did in their heydays. Still, every now and then Batmobile still makes an appeal to my drawing skills, like the record sleeve I've made for the split album of Batmobile and Peter Pan Speedrock. Most recently I made a design for a Batmobile bottle opener, which is for sale on the Batmobile Webshop. Sorry sir, prices on website not real prices. Prices on website are only to attract customers.". Geplaatst door Pieter M. Dorrenboom. Pieter...

Maandag 25 februari 2013. I received a fax from the newspaper which contained examples of puzzles that needed some improvement. Like this one:. Before I begin with what I think could be improved about this puzzle, it would be better to translate the text at the top first. That way the purpose of this puzzle will become much clearer for those who are not familiar with the Dutch language. Mind you, I'm not a professional translator, but I'll do my best. I think you'll get the drift anyway. In case of the p...

Dinsdag 18 februari 2014. Making a paper collage. A little while ago I was asked to make a decorative wall piece for a living room. My principal gave me a free hand in whatever I would like to choose as a subject for this work; a rare opportunity! To achieve this, I chose to make a collage of coloured paper. I've made such collages before, like this one:. And these tropical fish:. Taking the depiction of the giant squid as an example, here's a step by step explanation of how I make a paper collage:.

Maandag 2 februari 2015. Labelshots part 2, more animals. I'm an aficionado of vinyl 7" records, not only because of the music but also because many of these records have an outspoken label design. In my previous entry I showed a selection of labels from my own collection which were all related to some sort of animal. In this entry I will introduce some more animal-themed labels. With an alternative version of the logo in comic style! And The Great Pretender. For the Platters. I quite like the logo o...

Maandag 25 oktober 2010. Every now and then I'm asked to create a couple of buttons for the sympathetic one-man company Buzzworks. Early this year I've made a series of four buttons with deap sea fishes. It's not the first time that I've used these peculiar animals as a source for inspiration, as you can see here. Ever since my childhood years I have a keen interest in marine life, so that may explain my fascination with this topic a little bit. And the Subzine cover. Or The Bremer Town Musicians. The de...
