FNSW Leagues – Boomerangs FS

Boomerangs FS enters nine (competitive) age groups into one of the three tiers of elite NSW Futsal competitions. Games are played on a home and away basis from October to February and involve competitive teams from Under 12s through to Open Men’s and Women’s. Development squads are also included for U11 and U10 boys and girls. Home games will be played at the AIS Training Halls with away games to various corners of Sydney (and Wollongong). Another successful season for the Boomerangs Women finishing third in the regular season which featured only six competing teams. The semi-final saw a dominant Boomerangs team overcome a much improved South Brisbane 5-2 setting up a Grand Final rematch with the Sydney Scorpions. The Grand Final proved to be a much closer game than 12 months earlier, but again saw the Scorpions defeat the Boomerangs women (3-2). The competition ladder at the end of the season:. The FFA F-League is the highest level of elite Futsal played in Australia and the only domestic competition played to full international rules. The Boomerangs are one of only two clubs that have participated in every season of the men’s competition since its inception in 2011 (the other are the Dural Warriors). Boomerangs FS is also an inaugural member of the F-League Women’s competition (from 2013). The 2016 season commenced on May 21 and continues till August. Further information on the links below.

Boomerangs FS were very pleased to again be admitted to the third year of the Men’s F-League for season 2013. A squad of some 30 players trialled during April/May 2013 under the eye of club president Kristian Collins and ACT men’s team coach, Simon Aitchison. Simon led the ACT Men’s team to victory at the 2013 Futsal Nationals played in January. The Men’s squad in 2013 was a mix of experienced players and some talented youth players. The 2012 F-League season promised to be bigger and better than season one with the inclusion of two new Victorian sides taking the total number to eight. The larger eight team competition included Sydney’s Dural Warriors, Parramatta Blues and East Coast Heat FC along with a strong Victorian contingent which included Jaguars FS, St Albans Strikers, Vic Vipers and Melbourne Heart.
