Janet's Journeys: July 2012
http://journey4janet.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 29, 2012. Tobago and the Tobago Heritage Festival. In Plymouth we have seen the Calypso and steel pan band competition and enjoyed more of the local food. The music went on all night and we could hear it on the boat! The next day was the Masquerade Theatre Cultural Showcase, they engaged the audience and it was quite entertaining. Next stop, Store Bay at the southern end of the island. Boats in the bay at Charlotteville. Heritage Festival Parade in Charlotteville - a rainy day. We returned t...

Janet's Journeys: February 2012

Saturday, February 25, 2012. Back in the Marshall Islands! It is great to be back in the Marshall Islands! Numerous arthroscopy (and o. Ther) procedures in the first week. It's great to see people who have been wheelchair bound, walk again. The medical team are some of the most talented, kind, giving and fun people I have ever met. I have been able to observe a knee replacement and a hip replacement surgery. Now that is something to see! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Back in the Marshall Islands!

Janet's Journeys: May 2012
http://journey4janet.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 25, 2012. As we go further into the Amazon Basin, we have been motoring during the day (watching for logs and large clumps of water hyacinth) and anchoring in the late afternoon to enjoy our evening meal and get set for the night. Today we turned off the Rio Para onto the Estreito de Breves. We passed the town of Breves where there are a number of lumber mills. It is sad to know that all that lumber comes from the deforestation of the rain forest. Friday, May 18, 2012. Need to buy a hammock?

http://journey4janet.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 2, 2012. After Chiang Mai it was another night train in a sleeper car to Bangkok and several days in Bangkok to see the sights. Of course we had to work around President Obama's schedule (they closed some sights for his visit). We did our best to enjoy the wonderful local food and as many massages as we could squeeze in. This first group of pictures are from Angkor in Cambodia. Angkor Wat at sunrise. Second class sleeper car, quite comfortable. Labels: Thailand Cambodia 2012.

Monday, July 18, 2011. Turkey Pics - finally. Well soon is a relative term. I had planned to post pictures before mid July, but I just did not get to it. Kwaj time was short and I was getting packed up and saying goodbye to friends. It is a great place to live, but Kwajalein has its challenges. I am now in the states getting some quality time with family and it is amazing to me how quickly time flies. And how fast nieces and nephews grow! So, back to Turkey. The ruins in Perge, some from the 5th century ...

Janet's Journeys: October 2012
http://journey4janet.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 25, 2012. The Survivor Tree at the 9/11 Memorial. My good friend Misti and I met for a weekend of fun and relaxation. I have been to New York before but every time is different. This time it started with a visit to the 9/11 Memorial. It is so sad to think about the violence in the world. I cannot understand why we can't do a better job of accepting each other and living more peacefully. We enjoyed a couple shows on Broadway, Evita and Wicked (the Wicked Witch was not so wicked after all).

Friday, March 23, 2012. Majuro, Capital of the RMI. I am at the end of a short (originally unplanned) stop in Majuro. For the last few days I have been working with a group of people that run the Canvasback Kumit Wellness Center. Diabetes is very prevalent in the Marshall Islands, over 50% of adults have Type 2 (adult onset) diabetes. Part of the team at the Canvasback Kumit Wellness Center. The link for the center's website:. Http:/ pacificdiabeteswellness.com/diabeteswellnesscenter 002.com. The dental ...
