Football — Touring the USA. Farm to Table in Austin, TX. Posts Tagged ‘Vegetable Gardening’. Spaghetti Squash with Tomatillo Sauce. On July 1, 2015 2 Comments. Especially during the summer, I let the garden inspire me on what’s for dinner. Tonight’s combination was spaghetti squash, tomatillos, jalapeños, onion, and tomatoes. I started by cutting the squash in half, and placed it upside down in about 1/2 in of water. I cooked it at 350 for about 40 minutes. I could open a food truck with those. I was in ...

Delights, Dilemmas and Dirt: September 2013
http://delightfulgardenaustin.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Delights, Dilemmas and Dirt. Sunday, September 22, 2013. September Garden Update: Fall at Last! I managed to catch a couple of butterflies on the plumbagos. One is a Pipevine Swallowtail. I believe- the black one with blue on the lower wings. The other may be an American Lady. Black, orange, a couple of white spots and white wing margins. My iPhone photos don't do justice to these beauties. In spite of my relative neglect, sage is hanging on, and flat-leaf parsley and multiplying onions are coming back.

http://delightfulgardenaustin.blogspot.com/2014/09/september-bloom-day.html

This was the highest aerial view I could manage, perched on top of a ladder. Yes, I tell my kids not to do this all the time. Autumn Sage ( Salvia greggii). Plumbago ( Plumbago auriculata). Is one I usuall...

Delights, Dilemmas and Dirt. Saturday, August 16, 2014. Black Gold, at least I hope it is. So, I've been piddling around with composting for about two years now. We've had the Tumbleweed. Compost tumbler for about a year and a half. I've harvested the compost approximately every six months, so we've had three harvests. Here's the thing: I'm still not sure I'm doing it right. I'm not sure about the correct procedure for emptying the composter, either. My unscientific method is: unscrew both end caps, ...
